I have a confession. I have a disease, called D.R.E.A.D.
Yes, another disease…. I’m full of ’em! And another confession- I’m recycling this post from 2 years ago!
Never heard of it? It stands for:
Do not
Really
Enjoy
At all
Doing this.
One of it’s chief symptoms is procrastination, severe type. Victims suffer terribly. You might even have it, and not be diagnosed yet. I decided to come forward, to support everyone who has it, and to raise awareness. (I’m crippled ya know.)
This disease has greatly affected my family, negatively. The latest tragic effect was on Pudding Pop. I was crippling her by refusing to let her spoon feed herself sticky stuff like oatmeal.
Visions of her in Pre-K, being the only one who had to have her Omie there to feed her, made me realize one horrible toll my disease was taking on her. Let me clarify, she has been feeding herself finger foods since she was 7 months old. I just couldn’t overcome my illness enough to actually hand her a spoon, and place a bowl of oatmeal in front of her. Poor baby, not able to develop properly due to my issue. (I know, your baby is better than my baby, because she has been spoon feeding herself since she was 5 months old, and has now moved on to reading. In Spanish.)
So, this week I inoculated myself by putting on my big girl panties,(I’m talking B.I.G.).
I’m happy to report that PP is progressing in spoon feeding skills, and my D.R.E.A.D. is in remission for now.
lol! DREAD

I have never heard of D.R.E.A.D. before but now I see that I, too, have had it pop up many times in my life!
