- DIN DIN Dining – making all the noise.
I’m sure you know DIN stands for Do IT Now. No? Well, now ya do!
Mama used to always say that, whenever I was procrastinating.
So, basically she said it every day, multiple times??
Smarty pants.
So, anyway, back to the dining room.
After the Dining Day, it looks like this.
But, at least the 1 clear spot is still there!!
So, now to really get down to business, and take it down!
This skirt has a tear in it. I’m gonna repair it, when I get to the actual sewing part again.
Will ya really?? YES!! Okay, but we’re gonna check!!
These containers I kept to put PP’s toys in.
But, then I got these really cheap, and I think they’ll work better, since they’re topless. {Screeching} Wait, hold up here!! Now you have topless stuff on here????? OOPS! I probably should have said lidless??
I found so much random stuff! 2 glue sticks, glue gun {nowhere near the glue sticks}, more material, DUH!! Oh, yeah, I guess material on a sewing table would NOT be random. Okay, moving on. I had forgotten about this Bob and Larry!! I gotta make PP something outta this for Christmas!! Only if your quilt queue is quashed!! Yes, ma’am!
She adores Bob and “Yayywe”!
2 books, toys, a video, stickers, snow cover:
Ya know, for all those Christmas Villages I [don’t] set up!
A picture Sis gave me, that I have to paint you-know-what-color.
Happily, I found the paint too!! So much other junk, not even gonna bother. Just like you didn’t even bother to set the timer?? Correct-a-mundo! I looked at the clock before and after. I knew it would be at least 3 x 15. And it was! And a little over. But it was so worth all the blood, sweat, and tears. (Well, no actual blood this time, and the tears were just the sweat running down my cheeks!)
Here it is!!
Yes, I know I left stuff on the top of the table. It’s for finishing Dr. Kim’s kwilt. NOT gonna put it away, just to have a completely clear table for the pic, then have to HAUL it ALL back out again!!
I think it looks terrific! And I even swept!! Woot! Woot!! Bonus points for finishing up that little detail!!
Dining Did.

Thanks, Dolly!! I spray painted the chair frames myself. Now just need to finish the other two, and cover that green!
Wasn’t that cute??!!

In case you are wondering why I have been wandering around on your blog today, “liking” but not commenting, I am psyching myself up for my own declutter-a-thon, trying not to get TOO distracted by chatting online – but I don’t want to skulk around like a ghost in the night either.
I LOVE my stuff, but I’m paying waaaaay too much rent — AND I want to move out of state without being forced to hire 1800 men and every single one of their trucks! That means seriously downsizing an entire lifetime of everything I own before my new lease expires on a large 6-room apt. with a large storage area in the basement (oh – and a balcony with chairs and tables)
Since I haven’t decided where I’m going next, I’m not sure what I’m going to be sorry I tossed, or what I am actually going to need (at a time when there’s likely to be precious little money to repurchase), which is making everything much more difficult.
So I wanted to see how YOU dealt with it all after reading Dolly’s purple cake post to see if it might jumpstart my thinking.
xx,

1800 men- that’s funny!!
I don’t mind you “skulking” any time!
I did think, oh, she’s binge reading today! 😉 I do it too, sometimes!
Wow, that’s a lot of decisions!
Around town, or out of state, a move is a move! The packing, and unpacking part is the same.
I loved all my stuff too! But, I’m tired of being depressed, and suffocated, and “owned” by the stuff! I’ve let go of stuff that I never though I would be able to! Every load that leaves the house is a serious fresh breath of air!
And the weight on my shoulders lighten!
Mama used to tell me, that the mess added to my depression, bu I never believed her. Now I KNOW it’s true!
So, did you get any inspiration from my posts?
Hope you enjoyed the slice of Dolly’s pie! 😉

ha ha! Inspired indeed, as I procrastinated getting started. 🙂 (Always enjoy Dolly’s “pies”) 🙂
The only thing that depresses me about my stuff is when I have to pack and move. If I were in my forever home – and owned it – I would probably find it an easier endeavor.

Moving is indeed the pits!! Maybe as you pack, you can thin out a few things?
Let me know how it goes!!
When do you have to decide your destination?

I don’t HAVE to move – I’m choosing to move – and I do not want to downsize as I pack because that hasn’t worked for me in move upon prior move.
I just signed a new 1-year lease — no choice unless I moved immediately. (Yeah, right!) I am hoping NOT to sign another, and I am hoping to manage the process with enough forethought that I can happily live out my days wherever I land.
So it seems logical to me that downsizing stuff is something I need to begin at the beginning of the process.

Oh, good!! It being your choice is so much better!
Well, having another year does give you time to pare down. That’s great thinking!! I can’t think that far in advance!

I have always been amazing at *thinking* far in advance.
DOING far in advance is quite another thing, however – lol. 🙂

Well, you can’t do both, or you’d be perfect! lol And that’s not allowed! 😉
