SS Scullery Scrapings, Scobblelotcher – todays’s scullery scrapings.

Are we done yet??           Seriously!!           I’m tired of this!         Don’t worry, they are too!     Thanks a whole heaping lot!

Okay, we’re still on the dining room table, sigh.       We left it looking like this.

slob, humor, less mess

Looking good! Right??

15 minutes, and I had worked these wonders:

Folded down 1 side of table!!      Swept that part of floor!      Deposited sweepings in trash!!

Had emptied the chairs!!            Found a long lost sock!

Recycled empty boxes!!!!         (Boy, will Sweet Friend be mad!!      Empty boxes are almost sacred to him!      They are NOT to be thrown out until that item has gone into the trash!)

slob, humor, almost empty table

Almost empty, now!

That was 1 busy 15 minutes!!     Just gotta hang up pic in girls’ room, and decide where to put the craft box.       If I time that last part, it will take nearly 24 hours, all by itself!      I need ideas of where to stash it!!        Please help!

At least I’m almost done with the table, now!       Right??

Scullery time, after today: 4 hr 17 min

Total House Time after Today: 6 hr 28 min

When I hit the 7 hour mark, can  I just shout “Done!”   and leave it??

Toilegami Town

My friend, Molly, from Shallow Reflections has taken up a new hobby!!      It sounds so enticing, I just might try it too!!

“Learning a new skill: We researched ‘hotel toilet paper-folding’ and realized there are many variations besides the simple ‘V’ shape. Did you know there is an art called ‘toilet paper origami’ AKA ‘toilegami?’ By reviewing photos and YouTube videos we were able to learn a new skill while simultaneously creating the illusion of a spotless hotel bathroom.”

slob, humor, V pleated fold

Ah, the classic, just tweaked a little.

How exciting is that?????

I’m gonna check into this!!

Go check out this post:

https://paper-crafts.knoji.com/how-to-amuse-your-guests-with-toilegami/

“‘Toilegami’ actually is the origami-style folding of toilet paper. Toilet paper origami is practiced in many hotels worldwide. You can also amuse and greet your guests with this amazing origami style. This post offers enough online resources to start making basic toilet origami folds. Learn some basic and interesting facts about toilegami and start folding toilet paper to have fun.”

One of the fun facts:

  • The Tickle Pink Inn, a motel in Carmel Highlands, California, folds the ends of its toilet paper into fan-like designs, mirroring the folds of its bathroom washcloths.

Not the Tickle Pink Inn, even tho it is pink:

slob, humor, toilegami

Isn’t that the most gorgeous tp rose you’re ever seen in your life??

Toilet paper folding or toilegami has attracted the attention of observers within the hotel industry and beyond it.”

This is really a real thing!!

Hey, I’m starting a toilegami class, only $19.99!!     Supplies included!        Be the first to sign up, and you will get to choose the design of your tp roll!!       Bonus:   you can start saving towards your goal of becoming a ten dollaraire!!

Thanks for the great inspiration, Molly!!    I owe ya one!!

I’m 5 hrs, 43 minutes in, and I’m still stuck between Days 1 & 2!      Yikes!

I know I’m probably confusing you, by working on the dining table, then the refridge, now back to the table.        Please bear with me!        (PS, just remember, I finally did Komplish Kim’s kwilt!!)

Back to what we’re doing.

slob, humor, messy glittery, gluey mess

Try, try again.

Believe it or not, I spent the first 13 min scraping glitter, and glue off the table.        You might have the mistaken notion that cleaning is not technically de-cluttering.          Just think about it, I’m getting rid of unwanted, unnecessary, and unusable stuff, tiny as it is!     Sounds like de-cluttering to me!

And just so you know, a blunt tip popsicle stick is NOT the most helpful tool, for scraping g & g.

slob, humor, cleaning with popsicle stick

Sticking it to the table.

Duh!        Besides, God created thumbnails first!

slob, humor, cleaning

Swishy, swashy

slob, humor, nice clean table

Niiiice!

I even got rid of those hearts!         (Remember how I just ignored them last time?       Cookie Chaos Calmed.)

It’s looking so good, I went ahead and restarted the timer!

Resurrection Sunday fancy:  Well, it is coming up….

slob, humor, Christmas still!!

Still in the clutches of Christmas….

More stuff….

Put it away.

And lookee here.    What happens when you wear your glasses on the back of your head, then accidentally tilt backwards, just a little…

slob, humor, glasses in tank

It could happen to anyone, right??                        [crickets ]                        Surely I’m not the only one who’s ever had it happen, am I??              [louder crickets]

At least they didn’t fall into the business end!!          SO.VERY.THANKFUL!!

Back to the table:  it looks lots better.         And now you can really tell I’m making a dent in it!

Patrick’s Page

This was my St Patrick’s Day post from 2015.        Wearing O’ the Green.

So, this year I thought I’d research it a tiny bit more.         Here’s what I learned.

From the website: http://www.christianitytoday.com/history/2008/august/real-st-patrick.html

slob, humor, St Patrick

The “Real St. Patrick”

“Patrick isn’t really a Saint with a capital S, having never been officially canonized by Rome. And Patrick couldn’t have driven the snakes out of Ireland because there were never any snakes there to begin with.”

“Though he was not solely responsible for converting the island, Patrick was quite successful. He made missionary journeys all over Ireland, and it soon became known as one of Europe’s Christian centers. This, of course, was very important to fifth-century Christians, for whom Ireland was one of the “ends of the earth.”

But, he DID use the shamrock to explain the Trinity, right??

Well, according to this website, no.     It was all just legends.

http://catholichotdish.com/the-pastors-page/saint-patrick-the-shamrock-and-the-trinity/

“There are several popular legends about how St. Patrick used the shamrock to explain the mystery of the Trinity.”

Being as how I wasn’t there, I am not gonna argue the point.      I do think it’s a great illustration!

Alright, now on to my St Patrick’s Day stuff.           You already saw my mantel.

slob, humor, St Pat's Day shelf   From Seven Seconds Scullery Scape.

Now, here’s my porch door, outside.

slob, humor, door shamrocks             slob, humor, door shamrocks  Porch door inside.

Front door, outside.                       Front door, inside.

And I also put one on Vanronica’s window, PP’s side.    And immediately she said “Wheah’s baby _____(PPJr)’s??”         Bless her heart, for being so sweet to her baby sister!!         (Now, I gotta go take one down off the mantel, and tape it to the baby’s side!!)

Here’s some funny stuff I saw at the store.

I want these tights!!     Of course, I’d have to wear them on my arms…..                                       And the white fuzzy things are leg warmers!!!     LOL

Ok, so that’s all the green I got going on today.

Seven Seconds Scullery Scrape

Alright, now we’re in the midst of Seven Seconds Scullery Scaffolding.         What in the world does scaffolding have to do with the Scullery??         Well, here’s my take on it.     Google defines it as “a temporary structure on the outside of a building, made usually of wooden planks and metal poles, used by workers while building, repairing, or cleaning the building.”         So, I’m taking the cleaning part, and applying it to the fridge.           Got it?      No, not that it matters to you.

So, the inside of the fridge is a fright!!

This is the top shelf.      Can you see those open cans??      Look behind the pie!

                                                            Yeah, had to trash those!

And later, I found out, thanks to PP’s discriminating taste buds, that the milk was rotten too.       Sorry, baby!       Omie didn’t mean to!

(If you squint, can’t you see how the wire shelves look like scaffolding??)

Second shelf, the 2 dozen eggs that I bought for DD2’s birthday breakfast.       On Feb 23.      At least it was 2017!!       And at least 1 of the yogurt boxes was completely empty.      Huh.         And more open cans.        Can you say yuck!!          I thought ya could!

The 3rd shelf.        Green eggs, (I’m sure by now)   and ham.     (At least I think that’s ham, all bundled up under there.      Probably it’s green by now too.)          And that yogurt is at least 7 months old.       Another toss without opening.

slob, humor, icky shelf

Close up of ickiness.

Yay!     At least 2 cleared, if not clean, surfaces!         Oopsie!      That cantaloupe is way past it’s prime.     Unless old as the hills is prime time now.       Poor PP, never got her ‘loupe.

Why do I have 2 lemons, for goodness’ sake??         I don’t even remember buying 1!     And I sure don’t remember using it!        But, it was amusing when PP opened it, and tried to drink it!       Bless her little heart!!          Oh, since I don’t remember which one it was, guess I better ditch both then.         Probably for the best!       And sadly, that Fanta is not peach.         It’s mango.      What a nasty trick to pull!

slob, humor, rotten food

All this goodness (note the sarcasm) that I was “shelf”ishly keeping all for myself!

slob, humor, dehydrated mandarin oranges

I’ve never seen flat mandarin oranges before…

I didn’t even bother recycling those cans.      They just all went to the trash.       I do recycle, but I have my limit!

slob, humor, empty box

The aforementioned empty box. Recycled, of course.

The mac n cheese didn’t look so, so bad, in the first pic, so I had to dump it out some.        Now you can see the true depth of the nastiness!

slob, humor, moldy can o' food

You can see the nastiness of this moldy mac n cheese, even with your eyes closed!

Yeah, the red stuff is cranberry sauce, from Thanksgiving.       (I’m thinking about just chunking those 3, without even opening them.)       Wise move, I’m sure!

So, that took the whole 15 min.      Pulling it all out, and dumping it.       I’m still dithering about the 3 plastic containers.

But, since a sweet lady at my church just gave me new ones last Sunday, I think I can probably just let them go….

So far 3 hrs 17 min Scullery Time, plus today’s 15, equals:  3 hrs 32 min

House Time was 5 hrs 28 min.    Adding today’s 15 , Total House Time: 5 hrs 43 min

Wow, this scaffolding sure needs more support!

Seven Seconds Scullery Scrape – now showing on a screen right in front of you.

Yesterday I finally had to do it.      I had to face this:

And actually DO something about it.     I put it off as long as I could.     BUT, I didn’t have a post ready for today, so…… needs must.

First, I bribed myself by eating an ice cream bar.     And, I told myself I could have another one, after.       Yeah, right!     You can’t eat just one!         Okay, so I ate 2 before, and promised myself 2 after.       Do the exact numbers really matter??         Do the exact number of minutes you worked really matter??           Well, duh!    Of course they do!!           Okay then, the exact number of ice cream bars matters too!          (grumble, grumble)          Point taken.           So, then, I also reminded myself I ONLY had to do 15 minutes.       At a time!!      You could always do more!!            (snicker)        Oh, you were serious.

So, suit up, we’re diving in.

First, I grabbed the big stuff, empty play doh cans, etc, and filed them in #13.       (“Big” being a relative term here, since they were miniature cans.)       Sponge pieces, random flotsam and jetsam, spare popsicle sticks, (do you remember how hard I had to work to get those????), and the yellow artist’s palette.      I did save the crayons, tho.

slob, humor, PP's play doh sculptures

So cute!      PP’s accidental sculptures!!        I know she had no idea it would harden when she just left it.       I was tempted to display them in her “Gallery” – read room, but I managed to catch myself.

Then, I literally began to scrape junk off the end of the table.

I took one of the Valentine cards, and used it as a scraper, to get the majority of the glitter, and little bits and pieces.

slob, humor, looks better

This is how I left it. Saved by the bell!

Using a damp cloth to pick up all the glitter will have to wait.    I wasn’t about to do more than my required 15!!

I even had time to sweep under this end of the table.

slob, humor, clean-ish floor       It’s clean.( ish).    It’s clean (er).     Okay, it’s better than it was, ok?           Okay, we’ll go with that one.

Scullery time before: 3 hrs 2 min

Adding today’s 15= 3 hrs 17 min  Total Scullery Time

House time so far: 5 hr 13 min + today’s 15 = 5 hrs 28 min total

(Who’s gonna break the news to Ashley??)

Friendly Frontier

YAY!!     I think I’ve solved my no internet problem!

Bright House became Spectrum, and raised their rate $20.     Well, that left me out in the cold, since I’m paying off my credit cards.

slob, humor, sad face

THEN!  I saw a Frontier truck in the neighbor’s driveway, and inspiration struck!      It was like lightening!

slob, humor, truck       I got all excited!     So, I called them up, found out it was only $46 a month, only $6 more, instead of $20!!!        A big woo hoo there!!

So, I asked XH, to pay over the phone, and gave him the $46.     I was ecstatic!!           Home internet in T-7 days and counting!!

That was on Tuesday.

Then on Monday, I get a letter in the mail.       From Frontier.

Not looking good here.

It was worse than not good- it was horrible news!      They said my credit wasn’t good enough to have service without a deposit, so they couldn’t serve me.        What in the world was the $46, that I had already paid, which the guy TOLD me was a deposit???

slob, humor, what???? face

I’m mad now.

slob, humor, " I'm mad now" face    (Can ya tell???)

So, I called and finally got a real live person.        No, I didn’t unleash on her.        I just asked for an explanation, of the contradictory info.

Her answer was, “Not enough signal strength” in my area.       Uh, huh.          And why then was I signed up for service, and charged on XH’s credit card???

She apologized several times.       But all that hot air didn’t get me internet.

So, now here I sit here at SF’s, stewing in my own juices.          (Trust me, it’s not a pretty picture.)

Frontier is not so friendly now.

slob, humor, keep calm meme
