Last week, after my nerves had settled down after Irma, I needed to do a quick purge of something!
So, I looked around, and decided to grab my jewelry box. Which I have not even opened since we’ve moved here, back mid-May!

Okay, deep breath!! Strawberry earrings, 3 pairs exactly alike; so I can probably get rid of 2. Good! A brand new pair, with magnet, that have not even been opened!! That I’ve had since 2011!! Guaranteed I will not miss them! And 1 single. Jet!! I don’t do singles, and certainly not posts anymore!! See ya!

2 shamrock sets; I can only wear 1 pair at a time, and St. Patrick’s Day is only once a year, so 1 set has to go. Shoo!!

The purple heart, and the strawberry can go. The 2 pix charms, I have larger sizes of both pix, so they can go. The HS key?? I’m keeping, because I lost my class ring, so this is in lieu of that.
Now onto more misc. stuff that is not jewelry!
The clear cover is to my seam ripper. It will go back on there, so I don’t lose a finger! Scissors will go in sewing stuff. Ya think?? Foreign coins are from Mama. I care nothing about them, and she cares a lot! So, back to her they go! The amethyst I’m keeping for now. And the angel is from Bubba, so she stays too.
I forgot about 2 other pair of earrings, till I was scrolling thru my phone, but I got rid of them, so no pix necessary.

Well last week, I proved (once again!) just how much.
For her birthday party, she requested strawberry cake, with pink icing, and a cherry on top.
So, I duly bought the mixes, ahem Who bought the mixes?? To be technical, I did. I just didn’t actually go to the store. (Oh, what would I ever do without XH, and Sweet Friend?? My whole matrix would collapse!)
Anyway, the ingredients were purchased, by whomever isn’t relevant.

and proceeded to bake! Yes, ME! Bake!

When she got home from day care, I let her frost them, and put the “Cherries” on top.
Yes, we’re pretending those little dots are cherries!
[No way was I gonna spend all that money on a jar of maraschino cherries, when the kids would just probably spit them out!! I’m not Pinterest Omie, or anything!]
These are the survivors, from the party, that we had at a park. So all the clean up required was to throw the trash away!! No sweeping, mopping, nuttin!! No decorating either! Boy, weren’t we smart! {And broke, but that’s beside the point!}
Now, back to loving her so much. Did I ever mention I’m allergic to strawberries?? Along with the gluten, and blah, blah, blah?? I made cupcakes, that I couldn’t even eat!! That’s love, folks!

We need to remember our fallen military.
This one makes me want to cry, the father mourning his courageous son.
Today we remember, and celebrate ALL our fallen military. Whatever branch, whatever war or conflict. They died for our freedom. It’s our duty to live in a way that honors their sacrifices.
Thank you God, that we live in a free country, and thank You for all the brave souls who fought to keep us that way.
I used to blithely say “Happy Memorial Day.” Till someone called my attention to it. It’s not a happy day. It’s a somber day. It’s a thankful day, but not frivolous.
Stay safe, thank a veteran, and be sure to tell them, you’re glad they made it back alive.

Approach with caution. The first thing that happened:
Crib guts.
The crib threw up. I told SF I was decluttering, and to please come get it, since he bought it, and PPJr’s little tushy barely even touched the mattress! In the whole 13 months of her life so far, probably less than 5 hours of it were ever spent in that crib! And of course, for some crazy reason, he wanted it empty! The nerve!

(Well, not helping so much as holding it back so I can snap a pic!!) When SF has a job to do, he gets it done pronto! No time for this standing around, posing for pix!
So, I had to sort thru all that mess. Then I decided to comb thru these shelves again.

But, it didn’t work out, again. We even went to counseling again, with a man this time! I was still too bossy, and he felt I was pressuring him too much. sigh Curtis warned me decades ago, that I was too bossy!
Sooooo, all the re-marriage books back out the door. Just gonna keep working on me, and enjoy my life, and my family, and get tons of sugars from my grandbabies!! Best hugs, and kisses in the world! BUT!! Cry Baby Bear’s still here!! I can’t let my first ever stuffie go!! How would she survive this cruel world, without my tender loving care??
I know, she doesn’t look well cared for, you might say. Well, I put those stitches there myself!! (the red ones)
Okay, back to the job at hand. At this point, a different day, DD1 joined me.
I did de-clutter the box of candy! Fine, I did eat 1 piece first. That’s how I knew it HAD to be de-cluttered!! Got rid of half the stuff in the big grey basket, that I was totally gonna spray paint….. Then chucked the basket as well. And tossed the craft kit, in the white box behind the light bulb. I have such big ideas of ALL the crafts PP and I are gonna do!!!!! And, I’m giving away the brown machine table. My legs do NOT fit under it comfortably!! I think I heard a rumor a while back, that I was too old to put up with torn, broken, uncomfortable stuff….. Anybody else remember that??
The teal hamper is full of donate. I even donated half of the material, in the 4 drawers of that dresser!! SO hard to let go!!
Both white hampers full of donate! Cleared off top of dresser. Got rid of cloth book, cuz button tires were loose. Why didn’t I just sew them tighter??? Ummm, do you remember one of my slob failings is also laziness???

For some reason, I’ve always been a vicious photo editor. My Mama first saw me cutting up pix, when I was about 12, for an album I was making. I truly thought she was gonna faint! Apparently pix were sacrosanct! How dare I mar their perfection by trimming them willy-nilly?!
And this time, I even threw away the duplicates, fuzzy, and faded beyond recognition ones too!! Score! I’d kept some of them over 40 years! It’s hard to say goodbye!

Seven Seconds Shed- today’s story.
Now I’m skipping on to Day six- Garage. Well, in my case, shed, since I have no garage! I know, I just skipped to Day Four, with Sisters’ Scene, now here I am skipping to 6. What in the world?? Do I have no sense of mathematical linear time lines?? Nope! Well, yes I do, have a sense of them. Just choosing not to apply them!
When I cleaned out the girls’ bedroom, I had to have some place to put all the stuff!! (So actually I did this day first, but I didn’t want to totally blow your minds by skipping too many days at once!!)
Why did she save these recyclables?? Can you guess where they went???
The shed, dun, dun, DUN!! Quite a mess!
I’ve been here 15 months, and only ventured out there twice.
This is all my own mess. Well, no, not really. I found 2 more boxes that had been left by the previous owner!! DD1 said “Trash ’em!! Obviously she doesn’t really miss ’em!” So, I did! Much to my own surprise! It wasn’t even MY stuff, and I still felt anxiety just dumping it into the trash, just higgledy-piggledy! Then the box of recyclables, that she was saving for……?????
And the purple shopping cart, and orange wagon were pulled out, and immediately put into play! (First top pic.)
The bag of cement, that is hard as a rock, is waiting for stronger arms than ours to remove it!!
The brown, wooden, slatted box in the bottom, left pic, middle shelf, is an egg box, DD1 said, after looking in it. She was just gonna recycle it, but I said “Wait!!” We can sell that!!” (Yeah, I should probably just go back, and put it out by the road, huh??)
Ahhhh!! So much better!! Not perfect, just better.
Not done yet tho!! Still plenty of mess to declutter!
Shed time: 1 hr and 15 min. each, for 2 people: 2 hr and 30 min.
Total house time before: 7 hr 58 min.
