Icy Exterior

Not really icy, per say….

But, at 9:30 pm, it’s a cool wave, for us!

Here in FL, the daytime temps can range up to 105, {I would put that little degree sign, but I can’t find it on the keyboard.} IN THE SHADE!!!!

102 degree temperature

IN THE SHADE!!

Did I mention this thermometer is in the SHADE????

Those are the days I don’t get anything done, except sitting right in front of my A/C!!  With a fan blowing on me as well!  Dressed in shorts, and a tank top, with a bottle of ice water in my hands.  With my feet stuck in a bucket of cold water.  (Hey! I should really do that!!  Instead of just making it up for effect!)  The first 4 parts are really true.  Only the bucket of ice water was make-believe.  But, I can assure you, no ice cubes were harmed in the making of this movie.

Ceiling Situation

One night, I was laying on my bed, on my back, looking up.  I thought

“Hmmm, that looks funny.”

me sleep 076

me sleep 078

Like a dummy, I gave it a poke.  Can you say DUMB???

Splat!

There was a wet me, a wet pillow, and a wet bed.

It’s a good thing I have another bed to roll onto!!

The next day:

DH rode to the rescue.

Dh's handy dandy knife

Dh’s handy dandy knife

After moving the beds and getting a bucket, he made a slit in the ceiling tile, with his handy dandy knife.  He’s a lot smarter than I was!

The ceiling must relieve itself.

The ceiling must relieve itself.

Now we’ll see how long it takes to get the roof fixed.  Oh the joys of home ownership.

sigh

Update:  2 days later, he borrowed a ladder, got some gunk, and painted the roof.  Hasn’t leaked yet!  Here’s hoping!!

Tiny Tackle

Remember when I de-cluttered the huddles of hangers?

Here ya go, in case you forgot.  (You’re welcome.)

It’s hard to see from this picture, so rest assured, I’ll take a better one.  But there’s a glass aquarium inside the white bucket.

Here ya go, view 2:

(Yup, the bucket bounced into the donate box too.  Just in case you were worried.)

Really?  The last time I remember DD1 having a fish was 4 years ago!

Is she keeping the bowl as a memorium?  RIP, little fishie, RIP.

Now we can get to de-cluttering.  Yay!!  I know you want to!

Since DD1 left it in my house, it’s mine by the rules of possession being 9 tenths of the law.  Plus, finders keepers, losers weepers.

So, off to the donate box it goes, splish, splash. Okay, that’s taken care of (dusting off hands).

Here’s the closet after:

The can of paint?  Hmmm, that’s a harder problem.  I really don’t think Salvation Army would appreciate a half empty can of paint.  But, who knows??  What’s a girl to do, what’s a girl to do?

Probably not a good idea to pour it down the sink??  No, I wasn’t really gonna do that.  It would kill all the little fishies.

Maybe I’ll ask our maintenance men.  Hopefully, I  can pass off the problem to them!!  (Heh, heh, heh)
