Murdered Mouse

Did you know mice can turn themselves off????     I didn’t either!!    Till yesterday, when mine quit working.    And, of course, since trouble shooting is not one of my strong points, I was baffled.   Maybe it was murdered???     I turned off the computer, and rebooted it.   Since I finally learned that cures a lot of ills!!!

But, the digital mouse still wasn’t working.  So, I tried to see if the plug was loose.    Duh, it’s wireless- no wires!    Duh-oh!     So, I sat there for awhile staring at it.    (Well, that works sometimes!    No, I don’t have to prove it….)     Considered crying…..    Decided to not let a tiny thing like a dead mouse defeat me!    After all, I’m bigger!    And hopefully smarter!!

So, I turned it over, and noticed the green light was out.   So, I says to myself, “Self, when the green light isn’t on, that means it’s off.    What could make it turn itself off???????”   So, I did like any normal person, and turned it back on!    Aha! Success!

mouse with the light on

The light is on! YAY!!

That worked !!    For, like 2 seconds.    Drats!!     Now what???     Then came the real brain strain-  if something isn’t plugged up- how does it run???

And the lights came on!!

purple light bulbs twinkling

The lights in my attic came on!

Batteries!!

And, I knew right where to go to find some!!!    YAY for organized!!!    (well, at least the batteries are organized, anyway!)

batteries in drawer

Junk drawer no more!

So, I figured out all by myself how to open the batteries package.   Have you ever tried opening plastic packs???    Thank goodness for the cardboard backing!!     Then, onto getting the back of the mouse off.    I can do it myself!    says every toddler everywhere….   (Am I in my second childhood ALREADY??)

So, now the light really came on!!   And more important STAYED on!!!

Hey, this being independent stuff ain’t so hard!    I got this!!

(till a real live dead mouse shows up!!)

Nicole’s Nemesis

Nicole’ s nemesis is disorganization. And clutter. And dirt.  So… Actually that’s 3 nemesis es.  Nemeses?? Like crisis crises?  Nemesi? Like octopus octopi?  Nemesisulum like curriculum??

Any way, she has 3 major enemies.  (I know how to make that plural!!)

I had her come back on Thursday 12-17.  To finish working on getting rid of her 3 arch rivals.

We started in the workshop, going thru boxes.  We got 2 boxes and 1 bag for donation to Salvation Army!  ( I prefer donating to them because over 80% of their donations are actually used for helping people, not ” overhead”, and million dollar salaries. )

Yay!  And they actually made it out of the house today!  Woo hoo!

Then we went into my bedroom, and tore into it.  Literally!  We decided 1 of the built-in dressers needed to go, to make space for my new ( to me!) computer armoire.  Does anybody really ever NEED 2 dressers??  Not me!  I don’t have enough folding clothes to fill up the 8 drawers I have left in the other built-in!

So, handyman DH was called in action.  His he-man muscles were put to the test.

Here’s the proof:

mitch takes out dresser

Flex those he-man muscles, DH!

Now, how my “home office” looks!

Well, you can’t see the filing cabinet to the right, but that’s the finishing touch!

Then, we decimated, (and by we, I mean DH!!!) the left closet to make a sewing “room”.   What an excellent use of space!   Thanks, Nicole!!

The mirror, the bins, and the idea- all Nicole!!  She is SO worth the money!!   If you live in central Florida, hire her!  You’ll never regret it!

Ok, commercial over, back to our regularly scheduled post.

My room makes my heart sing!!   It’s all new, and ALL MINE!!

Love/Hate Challenge

Beautiful Himali, from decodinghappyness has nominated me for a challenge.

                                      Love – Hate !

Read here: love-hate

  • List 10 things that you hate.
  • Nominate fellow bloggers to take the challenge.

love-over-hate1

So, here goes:

LOVES:

  1.  Jesus/God/Holy Spirit  (They’re the same, 3 persons in 1 Godhead.)
  2. My husband, DH
  3. My 2 daughters, DD1, DD2
  4. My grand baby, Pudding Pop
  5. Mamafirst established
  6. My family; nuclear, first established , this established, and extended
  7. PURPLE!!!  (Y’all knew that one was coming, right??)
  8. Losing weight
  9. The Bible
  10. Blogging, my new addiction

Hates:  Hmmmm, this is harder.

  1.  Bad grammar, especially in a love letter.  In 8th grade, I red-lined all my boyfriend’s love letters, and sent them back for editing!  Yes, I really did!  The gall!
  2. Long hair, on me.  I whack it off every chance I get.  When my girls were in Elementary school, I even shaved my head, much to their chagrin, and Mama’s horror!
  3. Shaving my legs.  Enough said.
  4. Abortion.  This is serious, I just couldn’t be all funny, without speaking up for the unborn.  They are precious little lives, no matter what stage of gestation.
  5. Frustation!  I’m not the most techie person in the world, so I get upset when I can’t just do what I want to do!  Why don’t I have a computer I can just speak to, and it instantly does my bidding????  WHY????
  6. Not having a sarcasm font.  I’ve asked for it enough times.  Someone should have invented this already!!
  7. Green. Yuck!
  8. Sushi.  Just the thought of it makes me queasy.  Believe me, I’ve eaten my share of stuff, so let me slide, okay?  Thanks!
  9. Running out of ice… and since I live alone, this would be the fault of ?????
  10. When I don’t get a nap.  So does everyone around me hate when this happens!!  (Can you say Grumpy?  I thought you could.)

Okay, so there’s that, then.  Onto the nominations.  And the awards go to:

The Premio Dardos {means Prize Darts in Spanish} Award exists to acknowledge the values that every blogger shows in their effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values every day. These stamps were created with the intention of promoting fraternization between bloggers, a way of showing affection and gratitude for work that adds value to the Web.

Gail, from SnapshotsinCursive, is a wonderful lady.  She cooks up such yummy recipes, I nearly drown my computer, with drool, everytime I log onto her site!  And her photography is simply stunning.  And she does it herself!  (Check out her link above, to see what I mean.  Put a napkin under your chin first!)

Gail has been such an encouragement to me.  She reaches out, likes my stuff, and comments on my posts.  And she shares knowledge with me.  She has definitely helped me improve as a blogger.  (For instance, she let me copy these theatre masks from her post!)

Thank you so much, Gail for being so special, and such an encourager.
