Real, Reat Reward

Of course, I mean “Real Neat Blog Award”!!

Sweet Elizabeth, from Comfortable Coop, nominated me for the Real Neat Blog Award.   Thanks, Elizabeth!!       You are a great writer, and friend!!

It’s always such a surprise, and serious thrill!! to see my name, on one of these award posts!!

I had to put it twice, just in case you didn’t catch it the first time!!     😉

You know the drill by now:

RULES:

This award is designed for people who have a “real neat blog!”

Those participating should ~
• Put the award logo on your blog.
• Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.
• Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
• Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.
• Let them know you nominated them (by connecting on their blog, etc.)
• Ask your nominees 7 questions.

Everybody has a real neat blog!!       So, everybody gets an award!!          Seriously, you want it, you got it!       How did Heather get people to nominate themselves??    I’ll have to go back, and take a look!!

These are the 7 questions from Elizabeth, for her nominees:

  1. Is there something that you do that makes you really happy when you’re feeling down?

Singing!!     I might cry, but it always lifts my spirit, to sing praises to the Lord!

  1. Is there someone (real or fictional) who inspires you? Who is it and why does this person inspire you?

My friend, Jan S.     She has a real bad bone disease, and breaks bones just by sneezing, sometimes.     She’s always in pain.     But she is the most loving, happy, always cheerful person you will ever meet!     You can just see the joy of the Lord in her face!

  1. Do you spend a lot of time listening to, reading, or watching the news?

Nope!!      I try to avoid it as much as possible!   I have enough depression tendencies, just by myself!!      I do read the missing kids alerts, on FB.  I forward them, and pray the child will be found alive, and unharmed.

  1. Are you a night owl or a morning person?
slob, humor, night owl

Night owl.

This is a funny question!     In my childhood, all the way up till I went back to teaching, in my 40’s, I was always a night owl!     Now, I want to be asleep with the chickens, otherwise known as grandbabies!!

  1. Do you have any pets? What kind and what are their names?

No, thank goodness.      The only pet I ever had as mine, was Emily.

I’ve never loved another animal, either before, or since.

  1. Do you talk to yourself out loud?

Yes, of course!!     Doesn’t everyone need expert advice, now and again??

     7. Is Jesus your savior?

Yes!!   And I’m so excited to see this question, Elizabeth!!      Thank you!!      It is THE single most important question in all of existence!       Having Jesus as your Savior is the difference between eternity with God, in heaven, or spending eternity in hell, if He is not your Savior.

Okay, now the hard part:

Nominate people.

Oh please, just nominate yourselves!!      And if you do, I’ll come back, and fill in your name, so your nomination will be all official, and stuff!!     Okay?  I hate playing favorites, and having to pick people for my team!!     Or worse, feeling like someone chose me last!      (Oh wait!     This part isn’t about me!      Sorry!     Can you tell I wasn’t too enthusiastic about elementary school team sports??)

I really like Elizabeth’s questions, so I’m copying them!        (Just remember Elizabeth, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!!)

Blue Blogger

Emily from Holden Down the Fort (her baby is a boy- hence the blue) nominated me for a Blogger Recognition Award!    Woo hoo!

Thanks, Emily!!

slob, humor, recognition award

I’m excited !!    Y’all know how much of an attention hog I am!!

She said she nominated me : “Because your blog is extremely motivational to me!”

That’s so sweet!

Now the boring part, those pesky rules, that dominate the fun.

  1. I must thank the Blogger who nominated me and provide a link to their blog. Gladly!
  2. I must write a post to show the award.        Happily!
  3. I must write a brief story on how my blog started.      Of course!!
  4. I must give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.         Hmmm, must I be bossy??   Well, I’ll try.    😉
  5. I must select 15 bloggers to pass this award on to.       Oh, must I???    Only if I want to be compliant!
  6. I must comment on each of their blogs to let them know they have been nominated for this award and provide a link to this post.       Cheerfully!

I started blogging cuz I was getting sick (and tired!) of being a messy!!    And ready to be more like my (Cleanie!) Mama, and Granny, and Grandma….

I found Nony, from A Slob Comes Clean, who has now come clean as Dana, and that’s all she wrote.    Oops, not actually, she’s still blogging!!    LOL

I realized that I could begin recovery from slobbery, just like I was in recovery from alcoholism.       God delivered me from alcohol, and now I have to do my daily part, of never putting that first sip in my mouth, ever again.       So, in the quest for recovery from messiness, I have to do my daily part, of washing the dishes!    And maybe a little something else, like sweeping??

So, now I yammer on endlessly, documenting the messes, and celebrating my cleaning successes!     And nearly break my arms, in the process of patting myself on the back so often!

Advice:

Make sure you remember to take Before pix!!!      Extremely important!!        Cuz after you clean up the mess, you surely don’t want to try to recreate it!!

Learn how to take advantage of all the free blogging tools out there!!     Cuz being “ignert ain’t no fun”!!       My BBFFJ, BestBloggingFriendForeverJanice, can help you  with all that stuff.

My Nominees:

Sha

Madelyn

Barb

David

Coral

Melanie

I’m too tired to even try to count how many this is!!      In the midst of moving, AND had both girls today for 9 hours!!        Nite, nite time!!

Paper Purgathon Paper

Okay, so Paper Purgathon Prep, was not so very much paper purging, as it was de-cluttering.   So, today we are gonna hark back to that day, and do the real paper purging.

slob, humor, challenge

To refresh your memory, here’s the paper piles, that were removed from the microwave, and counter.

So, I put 15 minutes on the timer.       And dove in.

I reckon these might be important.

(Boy howdy, I LOVE these circles!!!        Why did it take me so long to discover them??)

slob, humor, VERY important!    So THAT”S why they sent me the cancellation notice!     I couldn’t figure it out, since I “Knew” I had mailed my payment!        eye roll

slob, humor, ooohhh I'm mad now!

ARGH! I’m so mad about this!! I just wasted 5 FREE dollars!!

slob, humor, trash    Yay for easy trash decisions!

slob, humor, meds

Good only until March. I have 4 days to use them, or die

slob, humor, flash cards

Yeah, I was planning to label stuff, to help PP learn to read. Hey, she’s not 4 yet, plenty of time!

Granny and my girls,                          Emily the only dog I ever loved, with my girls, and 1 extra!      The one in the middle is Kimmy’s BFF.                                             Melinda as drum instructor!       LOL      I love looking at old family pix!

Yoo hoo!      Melinda!         Yeah?         Back to work!    You’re supposed to be purging paper, not mooning over old pix!        Oh, yeah, sorry.

slob, humor, knowledge is power

Self explanatory

Self explanatory???        Not by a long shot!        Well, you know I want to get married again.        Yeah.   And??           Well, knowledge is power, and I don’t want to repeat the mistakes of all my last 4 marriages.      Oh, ok. Good thinking.     I guess.        I just wondered if there was something you needed to tell us?!        Nope!      Not yet!       If/when there is, you’ll be the first to know!       (Being as how you’re in my head, and all.)

Alrightey then. now that we’re back on track.       The book went to my room, along with the pix.      And the important papers, and the word labels.

The Beall’s bucks were filed in # 13.      (I’m still steamed about that.)

I threw away some more papers, and then I was so exhausted, I stopped the clock at 5 minutes left.      I know I’m supposed to do a full 15, but hey, are ya really gonna come after me for 5 lousy minutes??

Catch me if ya can!!

slob, humor, gingerbread man

“Catch me if ya can!” said the Gingerbread Man.
