Bundles of Bibles

Guess how many Bibles I had on my Expedit??  Go ahead- guess!

6!!  ( I couldn’t wait.  Sorry I blurted it out, before you had a chance to think.)

And I’m fully certain I can’t read all of them at once.  So, that being said, more than 1 or 2, might be {gulp}

clutter.  Shudder.   I can’t believe I just admitted that!

Hence, the need for de-cluttering.

Now, decision time;  exactly how many Bibles does 1 person need?

Let me start reasoning this out:  The burgundy one in the top photo is fairly new, large print, but is not sentimental to me, at all.  So, that one can go.

The orangish one is an old one of mine that is not sentimental at all either, so it can go.

Hey, this de-cluttering stuff isn’t as hard as I thought it would be!

The brown, spotted one is a really old one of Mama‘s, that she wrote comments in.  That one can NOT go!!  It is very sentimental to me.  I love reading it occasionally, and seeing what verses were particularly meaningful to her.

The one at the bottom, with a tree on it, was given to me by my parents, when I was 8.  VERY sentimental!   Keeping that one as well.

So, let’s see; so far out of 4 Bibles, I’ve gotten rid of 2, and kept 2.  Hmmmm…. 50%- how bad is that?

Any reduction in stuff, is good, right?  Nicole?  Kristen?

Considering I won’t have any bookshelves in my new place….  oh wait!  I have Granny’s corner cabinet!!

It has shelves!!  That can be my Bible bookshelf!  Hurray!

Of course I’m keeping the purple one.  (that’s a no brainer!)

Extra Extra Expedit Expedition

20150317_221510  Yes, you’ve already seen both these pix.  Deja vu, anyone?

Now that we’ve gotten the boxes off the top, (remember how hard that was???  I’m still having nightmares about reaching over my head!)

And Mama has organized the books, as much as she could in the time allotted;  we are gonna tackle the rest of the behemoth.

Yes, we took care of the blue bin already.

Time to get nit picky, and go for the gold.

See that material way on top?  That’s for my friend, Shirley’s quilt.  Nah, she doesn’t mind if I blog instead of sew.  It’s at least 6 months away from being cold!

So much random crap, I mean, stuff on these shelves!

Christmas ornaments?  Yup, don’t you leave yours out all year?  C’mon now, I know some of you do.  I’ve driven by your porches!  (I’m looking at you, Sweet Friend.)

BTW, I know I’m supposed to be de-cluttering, but don’t lay a finger on my Butterfinger books.  You’ll draw back a nub, mister.

But, I did take a deep breath, and donate the books.  That was traumatic.

Working on it

Working on it

A nice friend came over to help me.   She was firm, but gentle, making me throw away sentimental items, like cards, AND  DD2’s baby cap.  That she wore home from the hospital!!!

DD2's Home from Hospital cap

DD2’s Home from Hospital cap

Now how ever will I remember that I brought DD2 home from the hospital when she was born???     Waaahh!

But, I do want to recover my home from slobbery, so….    I bit the bullet, and did it.

Thank you nice friend, for pushing me a little, to make better choices.

Looking better!

I’m exhausted, by all this extra expediting.  Time for a nap!

Update:  You know what??   I don’t miss a thing.

Expedit Expedition

My Expedit, in case you’re not an Ikea fan, is from there.  And they name ALL their furniture.  And it’s in the sales contract, that you have to call it by its proper name, or they come repossess it.  It’s 6 foot tall, so reaching those boxes on the top, will be like an expedition to Mount Everest.  ( And will leave me just as breathless.)  Well, maybe not THAT high.  Um… Bok Tower??  Yes, I’m 5’10”, what’s your point?

But before I can even reach the boxes, I have to move the clutter in front of the Expedit.  And I hope I’ll make decisions about where it goes, instead of moving it outta the way, and putting it right back.  (Hope springs eternal.)

Now we have another dilemma… Remember when Nicole, and Kristen C. and I had our little discussion about containers??  And cardboard boxes being not really the class of containers we want?  Well, I still haven’t had a surprise package from The Container Store, so…  we’ll just to use the boxes until we can do better.  Don’t hate the playa, hate the game, girls!

I would dearly love some purple bins, enough for every cubby.  But that is a pipe dream, because I don’t think they have them that size in the Dollar store.
