Divorce Decision

With a pervasive sense of sadness, I drove to the courthouse, and filed my divorce papers.

divorce paper

We’ve tried to make our marriage work, we just couldn’t.

The clerk couldn’t say how long it would take to have a court date. So, we’ll see….

Endings are always bittersweet.

Bitter, because I feel like a failure.   This is my third divorce.   What kind of awful person am I, anyway??   (The only saving grace in my mind is, the first 2 divorces were to the same husband.   No one can ever say we didn’t try!)

Sweet, because it will be a relief to just have it done, and over with.   Even as amicable as we are, there is always a certain tension.

So, on to practical matters.  For obvious reasons, DH will now be referred to as XH. (EX-Husband.)

We have agreed to remain friends, so he may still appear now and again.

My name will be changing again.   Not to my last married name, but to my first married name.  Since we have children together, with that name, and I was a Woideck longer than anything else, except my maiden name, Hawkins.

My last married name, Sanchez, never felt truly mine.  Probably because he died of cancer after only 2 months.   And being a widow was so shocking, and painful, that nothing felt right.

And now a new chapter begins……

Hey, it says what I needed- (the first line anyway! ) AND- IT”S PURPLE!!

Nicole’s Nice

I finally had a few coins jingling in my pockets, so I was able to hire Nicole Ramer from OrganizedByNicole  to come clean and organize for me.   The cleaning took most of her time.   (Hi, remember me, PurpleSlob??)

She is running a special for Polk County, $25 an hour for cleaning.  She just added that to her menu of services.  And, she doesn’t use harsh chemicals!   Baking soda, vinegar, Dawn, and lemon essential oil.  The house smelled so pretty!   It fooled me into thinking she had snuck behind my back, and squooze fresh lemons, and made lemonade!!

Alas, she had not.  😦

But, it was a good fantasy while it lasted!!

Anyway, this is how you know you’ve had an organizer clean your bathroom:

Did I mention that I LOVE HER????

She knows how to take of the important things FIRST!! lol

Tune in next week, to see what other miracles she performs!!

dreaded doorbell deadline

Yesterday, (many yesterdays ago, now) I got a phone call.

rotary dial phone

(By candlelight, apparently)

“I’m coming over, be there in an  hour.”

4 sand hour glasses

So, I’m guessing each one is 15 minutes??

Panic! Only 1 hour get ready!!

Exact replica of my expression!

First time visitor! I want to make a good impression!  I haven’t seen her in over 2 yrs!

Nony calls it F.O.U.D.  Fear of unexpected doorbell.  Perfect description, and diagnosis!

Took a quick shower.

(No pix exist of this.  You’re welcome.)

Dishes-10 min or less.

5 min pick up was all I needed!  Had time to sit down for lunch.

Whew! So relieved in such good shape since blog.

Left floor- oh well. Visitable not perfect!

Relaxed and enjoyed visit.

But then she wanted to go in bedroom!

Nooooooo!!!!

Sigh. Oh well at least I made a good first impression!

Pudding Pop’s Pretty Pink (P)kitchen

I know Pkitchen’s not a word.  I just had to put that P in there!  My fingers would not stay off the P key.

How precious is that??

Ever since PP’s  Panda and Pink (P)first (P)birthday Party,

(I tell ya, my finger WILL NOT come off that P key!),

I’ve been jonesing to get PP a pink (p)kitchen.  The Sunday after Black Friday, they were still ringing up at Black Friday prices!  So, I was able to get one, without fighting all the crowds!

(P)hurray!

I even stated putting it together myself, but got stuck.  So we had to call in the handyman to save the day!

(We had DD1 and PP’s Christmas early, because they were down visiting from their new home.  )

Here is a pic of PP playing with her pretties.

It came with pots and pans, dishes, spatula, and even a cell phone!

Now all I have to add are some potholders, hot pads, and and an apron!

It just so happens the the Christmas dress I made her was in 2 pieces, with an apron! So, I’m ahead of the game there!
