Tilt-a-whirl

I just had the sickening feeling of the world tilting on its axis.  Horrible feeling!  Anchored to nothing, about to spin out into space!  Anxiety riding high!  Whatever in the world is wrong??  What’s happening??  Questions churning through my mind, even as my body is spinning in chaos…..

I quickly ran thru scenarios in my brain…..

Ahhh- that’s it!  I haven’t seen PP in over 24 hours!

wild eyed woman

what IS that HAIRY thing down there??? Oh, whew, it’s only my leg….

It was grand baby withdrawals!  Baby DTs are nothing to sneeze at!!

But, now that I can rest assured I’m not dying, and the world isn’t ending…. (at least not this minute)……

I take a deep breath, and repeat after myself, “It’s okay. I saw her 30 hours ago, and I will see her again soon.  I will see her again soon.”

A comforting chorus of “PP loves me so much!!!”  softly playing in the background, lulls me off back to sleep, with a contented smile on my face.

back to sleepOf course I sleep sitting up!  Don’t you??  Oh alright, I admit it.  I adapted these photos that I’d taken for something else.

Glasses Galore

I had waaaay too many glasses.

The plastic glasses, the mugs, the grape goblets, the sippy cups, the real glass glasses…

AAAAHHHHH!

Too.Many.Drinking.Containers.

So, I got out my trusty “How to De-Clutter Too Many Glasses” Guide.

#1 said, Get rid of superfluous ones.  So, the glass one with tiny Coke bottles all over it went, because I never used it due to the tile floors.

#2.  If you have a set you like, and use, keep it.  So, I kept the grape goblets.

#3   If you don’t drink coffee, how many mugs do you need?  So, I got rid of a few of those.

#4   If the grand baby still needs a sippy cup, keep at least one.  Done.

#5   Why are you keeping plastic ones that are bent?  So, the Tampa General one that was now oval, instead of round, bit the dust.

#6   Consolidate the shelves.

20150525_181354          I’m allowed to keep these.  Uh, huh!  The book said!

Stuff to donate:

20150525_181608    Yeah, you didn’t see some of these in the befores, because they were in other cabinets. smh  Don’t ask me why!  I don’t have any better idea than you do!

Yes! Fist pump!  Looks so much better now!  And I have a prayer of fitting all my glasses (real glass or not), into my new, tinier kitchen!

I’ll take that as a WIN!

First Day

I’ve been reading Nony, from A Slob Comes Clean, for about a month now. She has motivated me to get my butt in gear. Sunday night, Monday morning!, I bought her 2 e-book set. Drowning in Clutter, Drain the Ocean, and 28 Days to Hope in Your Home. Of course, being me, I read them immediately.  Then, I got up and emptied the dw.  DH was so excited when he opened it Mon. morning and saw it empty.  Then I got really CRAY-CRAY, and while he took the grand baby, Pudding Pop, for her morning walk, I swept and mopped the living room. My back hurt, and I was huffing, and puffing. Yes, and sweating too.

But, it only took me approximately 10 minutes, start to finish, including moving the toys. Then I sat down, and basked in the glow of a job well down. And basked all day! And posted about it copiously on FB. and private messaged everyone who didn’t comment on my post. I’m so needy for approval. Then I decided to start this blog, to look back on my accomplishments, and brag on myself!

Actually, I’ve been working on cleaning up for longer than just 1 day.  After I got out of Physical Therapy Rehab, June 5, I started getting the itch to have a house that was nice. Not pristine, magazine level, no one can touch anything, just nice.  So, I began going thru boxes, and getting rid of stuff. It felt good to see those 3 boxes of donations, 1 box for consignment, and 13 gallons of trash leave out the door!  We straightened up the living room, and began having people over, well, family.  Then I even had the nerve to have Pudding Pop’s first birthday party here! Everything looked really good.

I have sewn 1 curtain for the living room, now I need to do 1 more. And wait for DH to put up the rods.

If I continue to help with the dishes, and sweep and mop every day, he’ll soon be putty in my hands!
