Vacuous Video

I’m going to try something new today.  Uploading a video.  I’m very nervous, both to try it, and for y’all to hear my voice!

Oh, yeah, and to see my bedroom in real time!

Okay, here goes nothing.

And nothing is exactly what went.   (Don’t ya hate it when that happens??)

Well, alrightey then!  When I went to my files, I didn’t have a video!  I could have sworn I uploaded it, all my pix are there.   Time to troubleshoot.  Oh, Sweet Fri-end!

This is hysterical.  When I went to Wikimediacommons, to look up a “loading video icon”, this is what they gave me:

how to export pro x project

Oh yeah, that’s what I asked for all right!  LOL  smh

Ok, thanks to Sweet Friend’s help, I think we got it now.

Here’s hoping!

Nope, WP doesn’t support VLC, whatever that is.

So, onwards and upwards to plan B, whatever that is.

Now, I gotta go home and take still shots, except DH already straightened up all the mess so I could go to bed last night.

Whatever is a slogger to do when her beautifully messed up photo shoot location, is now NOT a mess????

Write a post about TRYING to upload a video, apparently.

Better luck tomorrow!

At least I can stop worrying that I sound funny on video!

Man Giant

(Part one, Strawberry City, if you missed it yesterday.)

A Man Giant standing there!!

Incredulously, she said “Hi.”

Man Giant mutely nods head.

Miffed, Strawberry Girl repeats herself, ” Hi.”

Another mute response.

Strawberry Girl,  “Well if he won’t talk, bring another one.”  she huffed, irately.

Her friends chorused, “Sorry, this is the only one we know.”

Man Giant had been struck dumb by her beauty.  And he fell instantly in love.

He pursued her.  Literally.  He invited her to Bible study, and offered her a ride.  She refused, so he rode  his chariot

by her side as she walked, to ensure her safety.

At the feast afterwards, he eagerly offered to pay.  She ingraciously accepted, but then ignored him.

Man Giant persistently  showed his love for her, by serving her in any way he could.

On the last day of the year, Strawberry Girl finally agreed to take a ride with him, on his Charger.

It became a horribly rainy night, as they rode home.

Suddenly, they were galloping on air, instead of terra firma.  Strawberry Girl screamed her terror……..

Quiet Quote Quorum

I’ve been challenged by Smiling Notes to post a quote every day for 3 days.

Thanks, Smiling!   🙂

This is day #2.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.”   Holy Bible, book of John, chapter 3, verse 16  (made famous by Tim Tebow)

My latest, and newest favorite

– Nominate 3 bloggers to participate per post & thank the person who nominated you

My Nominations are:

1.  Veronica

3.  Carmen

Hope you enjoyed my verse!

Dresser Drawers, Doubled

My undies are supposed to be in this second drawer.  (Of course they’re not there.  What do you take me for, A Cleanie??)

Where are they one might inquire?  Surely, one might inquire, but I plead the Fifth.  No need to incriminate myself.

I forgot to take a pic, of course.  And now the dresser is gone.  (YAY!!)

The bottom drawer is supposed to be for pajamas, etc.  So, of course I have my winter gloves, and hat there.

Bottom Drawer

Bottom Drawer

Makes perfect sense to me!

And by the way, this is FLORIDA.  Where we have maybe 3.2 days of cold weather, (cold enough for gloves.)

So, why do I have 5 pairs???  And 2 of them identical?  smh

I need answers here!

A two-fer! Bought these when I couldn't find the other 3 pair.

A two-fer! Bought these when I couldn’t find the other 3 pair.

One of the 2 identical pair.

One of the 2 identical pair.

Think I can donate some of them??   I don’t know, what if I suddenly lose 4 of them, and if I already have gotten rid of the 5th, how will my hands stay warm?  Hmmmm?  I ask you?

I got rid of all but 1 pair.  Now I better keep track of them!  Maybe knowing I only have 1 pair, will motivate me.

Here’s hoping.

Nominated for Sisterhood of the World Award!!

IMG_4200

Gail from  Snapshots in cursive nominated me for the  Sisterhood of the World award.

I’m speechless.

And very grateful, as well!

Thank you, Gail!

http://snapshotsincursive.com/2015/05/28/how-sweet-the-sisterhood-of-the-world-blogger-award

RULES:

* Thank the giver and link their blog to your post.
* Answer the 10 questions given to you.

* Pass the award on to 7 other bloggers of their choice and let them know that they have been nominated.

* Include the logo of the award in a post or on your blog.

Here they are:

1. On the bad days, how do you cheer yourself up?

A- Singing hymns, and Scripture songs always helps.  Also, talking to my brother!

2. Which is your favourite food?
A- It used to be bread, any kind.  Now that I’m gluten free, I’m really beginning to enjoy fresh vegetables more.

3. How do you let go?
A- Read a novel, or color a picture.

4. How much do you value ‘silence’?
A- So, so much!  My house is finally quiet after many years, and I just sit, soaking it in.

5. Will you hurt someone intentionally or lie to make them feel better?
A-  No, I don’t intentionally hurt people.  Sometimes I do, because I often speak before I think.  Trying to work on that bad habit.

6. Do you have faith in humanity? why or why not?
A- No, not really.  I know humanity is fallen, from Adam and Eve sinning.  Our only hope is through Jesus Christ, and His atoning blood.

7. One thing you really wish could come true?
A- To have an air conditioned vehicle again!  I live in Florida, and I melt every time I have to drive.

8. If you had to sum up your life in 10 or less words, what would they be?
A- A sinner saved by grace.  Love my girls, and family.

9. How do you express anger?
A- Too often, by sleeping.

10. What is the one thing that will turn you completely off about a person?
A- Bad grammar.  When I was in 8th grade, I red lined all my boyfriend’s love letters, and sent them back to him for correction.  What a word snob!

Much to-do Monday

Last Monday, I woke up at 7 am.  That is NOT my usual MO.  I usually drag up outta bed around 2 pm, unless I have an appointment.  Took my medicine, and did morning hygiene ritual.  Which unfortunately, did not include a shower.  If I had only known what was going to happen later, I would have taken the opportunity!

So, when I called my Mama that early, she was startled to say the least!  Then I called Sis, just so I’d get an “Atta, girl!” for being up with the rest of the world!

I started a load of laundry.

20150511_084801Wow! I have huge man hands!  Jerry Seinfeld wouldn’t date me!

Emptied the maroon recliner of its laundry.  (No, I didn’t fold and put away, just moved.)

Focus, here! We are celebrating my accomplishments!

Washed a pot, and the frying pan.

20150511_084353

Scrambled eggs, and ate with blueberries.

Washed the frying pan again!  (That’s huge!!  Washing the pan immediately after I used it?  Never occurred to me before now!  No, no, don’t look at the dirty dish still in the sink.  Accomplishments, remember??)

Filled ice cube trays.

Wrote this list to congratulate myself.

Carried dishes to sink, including last night’s salad bowl.

Read Bible, and prayed.

Switched load of laundry to dryer.

20150511_084922This time, I decided to leave my man hands out of it!

Took pix for blog.   Why, yes!  Coincidentally, these very ones!

Rewarded myself with reading.

Then DD1 called and asked me to watch PP.  Well, of course!  I’m not gonna turn that down, no matter how busy I am!  From 10:10-2:40, be super Omie, and get and give all the loves, hugs, and kisses I can squeeze in.

Went grocery shopping.

Re-read recipes, realized I can’t make cheesecake because I don’t have a mixer.  Cried.

Washed dishes, including the one in the sink in the pots picture, that I needed for supper, loaded dw with others.

Cooked supper.  Took frequent breaks to sit down, pant and gasp, and drink water.

Sis came and helped me finish up supper.

We, plus Brother, ate, and talked , and laughed.  (But they wouldn’t let me take any pix for the blog.  😦  )

After a little while, Brother went to bed, and then I kept nodding off.  Sweet Sis said she’d go and let me sleep.  And boy, did I!!  I was exhausted from my super busy, Manic Monday.

(The next day, when I told Sweet friend about my day, he asked, “Who are you, and where’s your pod?”  That’s a running joke with us.  I have been very, very lazy , except watching PP, for a long, long time.)

“She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eath not the bread of idleness.”  Proverbs 31:27  KJV

I believe there is hope for me to be a Proverbs 31 woman after all.

Horsey Hallway

"Longing"

“Longing”

This beautiful original oil painting is hanging in my long hallway.  Brother hung it up when he moved in, under the hallway light, so it would be showcased.  Mama painted it from memory, of a pencil drawing Brother did when he was in school.  (We will skip over how many years ago that was!  You’re welcome.)

It’s titled “Longing”.  In person, you can actually see the longing in the horse’s eyes, and expression, for freedom.  Very poignant.

Sometimes, I long to be free of my slobbery.  It definitely fences me in, behind literal walls of stuff.

It keeps people from visiting me, because there is no place to sit, due to the laundry, or whatever, on every available flat surface.

When someone is brave enough to visit, and they’re persistent enough to tunnel out a place to sit, they’re usually uncomfortable.  Chaos is uncomfortable.  Our minds seek order. Even if I say it doesn’t bother me to live in such a slobby mess;  sometimes, it does get to me.  And, I despair of ever digging out of the mess.

So, I make stabs at it, here and there.  Last Tuesday, Mama came over and we decluttered, and she organized some, in my bedroom.  (Alert- future post.)

But, overall, what difference did it make?  Sure, I can look around and see carpet now, where I couldn’t before.  And sure, now I can actually see the table top.  And my shirts are actually hanging in my closet.  (GASP- I heard that!)

But, I still have so much to do, and so far to go.  Why do anything, really???

That’s what my slob brain says.  But my “wants to be a cleanie” brain says, “Don’t give up! There’s hope! Keep on doing something!”

I realize I may never be a cleanie, after all, I’ve been a slob for 54 years now.  But, I’m gonna keep on chippin away at the mountain.

Who knows?  Someday, maybe  I’ll be company ready without a 3 day marathon of cleaning!

And when that happens, you’ll be the first to know.  Promise.
