Victim: Vanronica

I don’t know quite how to break this to you, Gary….  but Vanronica might have to be put down.

She broke another leg.

slob, humor, Vanronica

Oh no!! Poor Vanronica!

The 4th one this year!!      Well, technically, she broke the same one twice, front left, and then a right front, and now the rear right.

slob, humor, tire missing

slob, humor, Vanronica

Eeww! She needs her hooves filed, or something!!

(Maybe we need to repave her track???)

Thankfully, XH is a tire man, and always rides to the rescue when I call!!       What would I do without him??         Well, this time I’d be walking!

Thank you, XH, for rescuing me again!!

I know who to blame this time!!     And I’m gonna name and blame!!

IRMA!!       Good thing she’s already hightailed it outta town!        I’d be after her with a vacuum, to suck her up!

Oops!!        I’m sorry!         I was trying to avoid saying her name again!!         Yep, this makes the 5th time!

Another Irma post, brought to you by the letter  “V”, and spaghetti.

Outside Ousters

Just in case you thought I made up another word:

Ousters – definition of Ousters by The Free Dictionary

a. The act of ejecting, forcing out, or supplanting. b. The state of being ejected, forced out, or supplanted. 2. One that ejects, forces out, or supplants another.

Annnnnd, just when you thought you’d never have to hear the word “Irma” again, here she is back for a fourth appearance.      (Dare we hope fourth, and final appearance??)

Oops!!     I forgot to show you the other day, the first, and most important inside prep I made for Irma!!

slob, humor, saving the ice cream

Had to save the ice cream from melting!!

That was job one!!       (Apologies to Ford!)

Onto more serious things.

These were the outside ousters for Irma.      Ya know, the stuff that might fly around and hit somebody in the head, and knock ’em out!!

Backyard stuff brought inside, away from Irma’s ire!

Front yard stuff brought into the porch, out of harm’s way.

Man, that trash bin was stinky!!

Our neighbor had a terrific idea!

slob, humor, sandbags on doorstep
Can you see the sandbags on his doorstep??

His apt. is ground level, whereas ours is 3 steps up!!

XH went around and closed all the jalousie windows, on the porch, the laundry room, and the bathroom.          A lot of the cranks were busted, so it had to be done from the outside.        So it was a man job!

So, that’s about all I have to say about Irma.        Hopefully since we’ve seen the backside of her, and know she can’t ever bother us again, I won’t need to mention her a fifth time, either!!

Oh, wait!!      Here’s one effect from her, that I’m not sure what to do about.

slob, humor, empty water bob

What do I do with this mess???       Water bob is a big, blobbing bother now!

Do I try to dry it out somehow???        I hung it over the shower curtain for 3 days, not effective.         And if I try to fold it up, and keep it, won’t it be mildewed next time I need it????

Okay, I think I have well and truly exhausted the topic of that wild, windy woman, you know who!

After effects

The after effects of Irma.

Side yard:

Help!      They’ve fallen, and they can’t get up!!

slob, humor, flowers down

Poor flowers.

Front yard:

Devastation? None as far as the eye can see.

slob, humor, no damage

Not even enough damage to write home about!       Thank you God for sparing us!!

Inside was a whole different story tho!

Our front door blew off!!

Okay, so it was only a tiny little strip of door Veneer that blew off.      But that’s not dramatic!!

We did have a ceiling leak, tho!       For realz!!

See??

slob, humor, ceiling leak

Ceiling leak in living room.

Okay, yeah, it was only the black speckled part at the bottom.      The huge patch was from a previous leak.       But still, we had to use 2 whole towels to sop up the deluge!!

TWO!       Beach sized towels!

The little plant table on the porch got wet.

The porch doormat was soaked.

Waaaahhhh!          My feet got wet!!

(I’m making fun of myself: NOT people who had REAL damage!!)

Back yard:

Looks good, looks good, looks okay.

UH OH!!!!

That doesn’t look so good!!

This is the apt. right out our back door.         The neighbor hasn’t returned home yet, so not sure of the extent of the damage.           But from the ground, it doesn’t look like it went thru the roof.           I hope not!

Serious damage????         To be determined.
