Authentic Author

I’m so excited to tell you (again)!!    My BBFFJ is a published Author!!        (Just in case you have forgotten in the month since Nov. 26.  But I need to start the New Year right, by bragging on my BBFFJ some more!!))

slob, humor, BBFFJ's book

Here’s the link to her book on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M4QOD41

Please go check it out, and buy at least 10 copies!!      You’ll be glad you did!!        The perfect gift for all the aspiring e-book authors you know!!

Once they have Janice’s book in hand,

er, in inbox??, they too can be a successful published author!!

I wrote a review for it, because she graciously let me read it beforehand!!

But then, Amazon was difficult about it, and wouldn’t let me post it, since I hadn’t bought anything from them.    What’s up with that??      But then I won a gift card, so there!      And still, I can’t publish the review, because it has to be valid debt or credit card purchases.   Then I was really unhappy!!       Especially since I’m sure it would have been my review that would have sold millions of books thereafter!        Of course it would..

Anyway, someday when I grow up, I wanna be just like Janice!

Update:  Amazon finally let me post my review last night! Woo hoo!

Rave Review

As I’ve mentioned before;  Janice is the author of the wildly successful e-book;   slob, humor, BBFFJ's book

And why is she so successful, you may ask??      Because she follows her own expert advice!!

So, of course since she’s my BBFFJ, I eagerly offered to read it, and give a review.      (I’m no dummy!    I’d be first to find out her secrets!!)

slob, humor, society

This is the review Marsha referenced, in her article, :How Do I Know Which Blogs Give the Best Advice?”         Marsha has posted her own review of Janice’s book here.

PurpleSlobinRecovery Reviews “An Insider’s Guide to Building a Successful Blog: Tips and Tricks from the Creator of Mostly Blogging.”

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce premier blogging expert, and my BestBloggingFriendForever, Janice Wald!     Janice, or BBFFJ, as I call her, is a teacher, with a huge heart for helping others reach their full potential.    Not only her students, but everyone in the whole blogosphere!!     And that’s exactly what her new e-book accomplishes!

This e-book is a veritable treasure trove of tried and true wisdom.    Once you’re finished reading this book, you too will know how to build a successful blog, guaranteed!!     (Unless you it read it in your sleep, then the guarantee is null and void.)

In her list of 71 Tested Tips to Help you Blog Better”, she solicited quotes from 71 of her readers.    Even me!!    And I’m as far from an expert, as you can get!    (I didn’t even know what SEO was, until BBFFJ taught me!  )

#48. “Comment on others’ blogs.”      And as you might expect, she was the one who taught me that, as well!

This e-book will introduce you to outstanding blogs, and bloggers that are very influential in the field.    Networking is of supreme importance, and you will acquire that skill set.

Seriously, BBFFJ’s e-book is the encyclopedia Britannica for Blogging!      (Oops, I think I just gave away my age there!)     She includes all the wealth of knowledge needed to do exactly as the title says.

Need to know WHERE to promote your blog??     Look no further!    Don’t know WHEN, or HOW to promote your blog?    Never fear!      Janice is here!    (With the answers to ALL your questions.    No, she won’t tell you where Jimmy Hoffa is; it has to be Blogging related!)

This book is a compilation of her posts teaching the ins and outs of blogging.

  • Knowing when to start a blog.
  • Finding your niche.
  • Finding your voice.
  • How to make, and use excellent graphics.
  • How to post superior content.
  • How to build a blogging community.

And so many other things, you’ll have to read the book to find out!!

You’ll even learn the paramount skill for bloggers:  How to blog, and STILL find time to sleep!!

Under “Examples of Blog Brands”, my BBFFJ once again features lil, ole ME!  {And no, I’m not paying her off!  😉 }

“Melinda Mitchell has a self-deprecating online presence. Her persona is funny, creative, and highly critical of herself. She calls her blog Purple Slob in Recovery, and that is her online presence—she is a purple slob. Bear in mind I am not calling Melinda a slob. This is her online name for herself. Her self-deprecating persona continues into her posts. A typical post, “Library Loser,” explains how she loses library books. Her avatar is that of a woman wearing purple, looking distressed.

slob, humor, Purple Slob- me!

She carries this “purple” theme across her social media. Her Facebook name is Purplelinda. Another creative maneuver that makes Melinda a stand-out blogger is her use of alliteration in her headlines. “Dying Dishes” is another one of her posts detailing the filth that covers her dishes. The post asks where dishes that dirty go to die.”

Oh, ok, I forgot for a second there that I was reviewing my BBFFJ’s book.  Enough about me!!     Back to the book!!

Another vital topic is; “87 Free Blogging Tools.”       Everything in the book is pure gold, so have your highlighter at the ready!!

“Currently, there are over 1 billion websites online. In order to make yours stand out and achieve visibility, you need an action plan.”      If your action plan does NOT include devouring this book, you’ll be sorry!      GET IT TODAY!!

Can you tell I love slob, humor, happy! ?        Oh fer Pete’s sake!      WE know you love yourself!       This is about JANICE, not you!!       Not that anybody would know that, with all the references to yourself you crammed into Janice’s review!

Oh, right!     Janice!

slob, humor, Janice Wald

My BBFFJ, AKA Janice Wald www.mostlyblogging,com

I love Janice, and Janice loves me!       Now go buy her book, and she’ll love you too!

Jenerous Janice

In her article

Microsoft Will Make You Get More Blogging Done in Less Time

my BBFFJ  has featured me once again!!     (See why she’s my BestBloggingFriendForever???)

  • “You can send what you’ve stored in your OneDrive with other people. Blogger Melinda Mitchell is reviewing my ebook. Since the book hasn’t been uploaded to Amazon yet, she sent me her review directly. I received the review she put in her OneDrive in my email.”

Janice jenerously gives credit where credit is due.  I wrote a review for her new e-book, then she featured me on her blog.    AGAIN!!     (Yes, I do realize generously is misspelled.)

We are such best buds!!       We’re in a mutual admiration society of our very own!        I need to print us up some T-shirts, or something!!

slob, humor, society  slob, humor, society     The purple for me, the blue for her.     DUH!!

  And make us Co-Presidents!

slob, humor, society    slob, humor, society  I know it’s a different purple.  I couldn’t decide which one I liked best!

Janice’s Jewel

YAY!!  I’m so excited!!  My BBFFJ, (Best Blogging Friend Forever Janice) just mentioned me again on her blog!!    No wonder I love her!!   (We have a kinda mutual admiration society going on!   Membership of 2!!)

In her post:

This is What You Need to Know to Get More Traffic from Content Syndication Sites

Content Syndication brings #bloggers traffic #bloggingShe wrote this about me:

“Melinda from PurpleSlobinRecovery asked me recently if I sleep. An understandable question since I work outside the home at a full-time job, have a family, and I publish on my blog five times a week.”

Her answer was yes, she does in fact sleep!  How??   By taking shortcuts.   Blogging shortcuts.

That’s the jewel that Janice’s blog reveals: how to take shortcuts!

Anyway, I’ll let you go over and read the article.   No need for me to repeat the whole thing here!   The important thing was that she mentioned me!   Again!!

Finally Fiction’s Food Finished

Finally!!   The quote challenge from Gary at FictionIsFood is finished!

But what was the problem?   Doesn’t everyone take 3 weeks to finish a 3 day task??

Uh, not really.   But it’s ok, Melinda.   You just do you.

Why, thank you!!

Today I’m gonna quote Brittany  Torrano.   I met her on my BBFFJ’s site, Mostly Blogging.   This quote was so appealing, I knew I had to steal borrow it!

“When you can, go for the WHY.  The why is an enticer. It’s the smell of fresh pastries from a bakery.”

insert pic of fresh pastries here   I would do that very thing, if I dared walk into a bakery!   So, here you have a pic of who-knows-how-many-years-old-pastries from Google.   Thanks, Google!   (Hey, I have a friend with a dog named Google!   Hi, Cindy D.!!)

slob, humor, pastries

courtesy of Google.com

(Where’s that smellovision when ya need it??   Of course, if they’re in fact years old, do we really wanna smell ’em??)

See “why” I had to use this quote??   Cuz I’m hungry, that’s why!!   Or else because I like you.   One of those 2.   (Gary, you have infected me with your ramblings!!)

Why didn’t I use the word “Why” in my headline??   Then my SEO would be sky high!  {I think.   I really have no idea how that works.   Even tho Janice has tried to tell me more than once.}

Now, where was I??   Oh yeah, avoiding the bakery.   No, that wasn’t it.   whirring sounds as mind desperately tries to think

Oh yes! Quoting Gary!   No,no, that wasn’t it either.   Visiting Cindy D.??   Never mind!   I’m headed to take a nap!

ahem   clears throat   uh, Melinda?

Yeah?

Do you think you could finish what you were doing, before the nap??   Ya know, sometime today??

Oh, oh yeah!   Of course!!!   I was just kiddin about the nap, anyways!

no, you weren’t

Okay, so I meant it.   Who’re you now, my nap monitor??

Anyways,  eye roll   the next 3 victims honorees are:

Honest

Suzy

Sahana

Have at it ladies!   Quote away!

Oh wait!  I forgot that Jenny couldn’t participate, (she JUST had a baby!!  What was I thinking???) so I need to tag 1 more person.  And because there wasn’t a rule to say I couldn’t, I pick Gary.   No tag backs!

Numbered Names

What number of names can I use in 1 post?   I’m thinking eleventy dozen…

set of numbers very young

“Very Young”- that’s me! Hey, they didn’t specify that it had to be your Chronological age!!

Jenny, I think it’s unremarkable how your kids file away numbers.   If we all band together, and use the number eleventy in the episodes of our daily life, it becomes a legit word, right, Edwina??

My BBFF Janice mostly writes about blogging. I’ve learned a number of helpful things from her.

Sarah Eliza devastates boredom on a daily basis.   How many of y’all can say that???

Claremary putters around the barn.  Hey, can you send ZuZu to find me a number of mice?  Thanks!

Himali spends her time decoding happiness.   I’m glad she does it, not me!   Happiness eludes me in a number of ways!

Susie is shy 45% of her days.   But, I managed to draw her out of her shell a number of times!

Roopam is whimsical 90 % of the time.  Lovely!

Sherri has a great view from  her summerhouse.   You can see any number of excellent vistas!

Carol was retired, but no one told her!   What a number they did on her!!

Carmen is always fashionable, even over 50 years!   I can always find any number of cute outfit suggestions on her blog.

Ralph put indigo in his water.   Now he’s in trouble!  Apparently a number of blue fish have way too much indigo in them!

Teagan has written a number of books.

Whew!  I’m tired from the sheer number of names I crammed in 1 post!!   If you didn’t appear, never fear!   I have a number of names left to drop!  And many more posts to write!

(PS: It is with a great sense of accomplishment that I announce, I used the word “number” 15 times in this post!!   Oops!  I forgot to count the one in quotes there!  -16!   And I dropped 13 names!!   YAY ME!!!!)

{If you only counted 13 times, hint- look at the pix.}
