Shower Show

Just reread one of Nony’s old posts that you’re supposed to hang your shower curtain to dry- in the shower.

WHAT??? You’re supposed to wash those things???   That’s a new one on me!

My MO usually is to ignore the mildew and black mold, until it has crept ALL the way up the curtain, and I get contact dermatitis from brushing into it.

In my defense: I inherited this shower curtain. Oh wait- that makes it worse, doesn’t it???

Just like those those dratted 2 year old dishes of mine.

sigh

I’m not made outta money, ya know!   I can’t afford to replace that thing every month!   (Even tho I totally buy them at the dollar store!)

But washing it, and hanging it back up to dry- huh.   Who woulda thunk??

(Even though, I’m pretty sure this is what Mama did, now that I stop and think about it, because when I lived at home, our shower curtain was never dirty.   (Or any other space in our house!!   Mama was a real live Cleanie!!!)  (And I was allergic.  Not to her, just to being a Cleanie.)

So, will have to ponder on this some more…..  until the mildew  has turned into a living entity, and strangled me in the shower, probably….    When that happens, that’ll show me!     I shoulda listened to Nony and Mama!!

Excellently Exciting!!

I was gonna wait, till I finished all my posts, but I can’t, I’m too excited!

I just moved!  {We know, Melinda, you just moved into “MY First Place All on My Own” 6 months ago.  So what’s news about that???

No, I mean I JUST MOVED!!  AGAIN!!  YESTERDAY!!

WHAT????

Yup!  I was bustin outta the seams of My First Place, what with ALL MY stuff, and ALL PP’s stuff, and then we have PP Jr. set to arrive in April…

And you know babies come with their own HOUSEFUL of stuff!

So…..  I decided on Saturday, 11/21/15 that I needed to move.  The next day, {Sunday the 22nd, for those of you like me who are calendar challenged}

I drove 1 street over, where I knew I had seen a for sale sign.  AS I was writing down the number, I hear a “HEY!”  I looked across the street, to see a woman motioning to me.

“Are you looking to buy a place?”  Um, that would be why I’m writing down this phone number, yes….  Fortunately, I was able to keep that thought internal.   Go me!

I responded, “Yes.”   She said “I’m selling mine!”   How many bedrooms?

Two.   My ears and eyes perk up!   How much?   “$1,000.00.”

Eeerch!!   You’ve never seen anybody drive across a street so fast!!

We sat down, after looking it over and made a deal!   Wednesday, when my expected check arrived, I RAN to the bank to cash it, and RAN back to give her the money!  She signed the title, and away I went to the tag office.   She forgot to sign the front, so I called her.  Thankfully, she was driving right by, so she stopped in and signed it.

Now I’m the proud owner of TWO homes!!  I never imagined in my whole life that I would be rich enough to own 2 homes!!  I better enjoy this  week, it won’t ever happen again!   I’m showing it tomorrow, and praying someone buys it before the first, when the rent is due!  {which is Tuesday, tomorrow!! for those of us who are calendar challenged.}

I don’t even have a picture, cuz I was so excited.  Why aren’t you surprised by that???  Gale_HenryUpdate:    I didn’t sell it for THREE months!!!    Yeah, so that was $1,000.00  in rent on an empty place.    😦    And I was only asking $1200!     So, I got desperate, and ended up selling it for just $10.00,  (YES!  TEN)  just to get it outta my name!!     The guy couldn’t hand me that Hamilton fast enough!!    And I’ll have that #1,100 loan paid off by June September 2017.     All’s well that ends well…

Sewing Sew Sew

What have I gotten myself into now??  I just finished the nieces baby quilt last, last, last Thursday (3 ago).  Now here I am starting ANOTHER quilt??  (For my Sister-in-law, Shirley- ya know, the one I promised Brother last January???)  Am I crazy??  (Well, that’s already well established, no need to answer!)

AND!!!!  I’m planning to do a Thanksgiving dress for PP!!!!!   I AM INSANE!!!

Just purchased the Thanksgiving material, (and Christmas too, if I MUST confess) for PP, on Veteran’s Day.

It was on sale!!  60% off the harvest, and 50% off Christmas!!  With a 40% off coupon!!!  I HAD to buy it!! Right then!!

(Even though I had to borrow the money, totally worth it!! to me, anyway!!)

I’m gonna be busier than “2 squirrels in a wool sock”!  (Thanks, Cindy D. for that saying!)

Shirley did come over and cut up all the squares, which I can’t do.  (Remember that pesky little wreck, back in February??

Boy, I do.  Every time I try to use my left arm!)

Here they are, in all their freshly cut glory:

Gorgeous colors!  Brother picked them out, and he’s color blind!  Kudos to him!

Here is the material for PP’s Thanksgiving dress.  I just love these turkeys!!  Who could resist such cuteness??

And I’m going to!

And ta-da!  Behold the Christmas dress raw materials.  PP picked these out herself!!  What an eye!

Oops!  I forgot to take that pic, again!  Bad slogger, bad slogger!   Meantime, please enjoy this lovely

Pic of Jackie and JFK, in their Christmas outfits.   Off to take that pesky pic!   (Unless I forget again….)

Okay, so now I gotta chain myself to the machine again!  Hope I get let off for Thanksgiving dinner!  (Well, that will probably depend on how fast I get the turkey dress done!!)  If you don’t hear from me in about a week, please send food and water!!

Library Loser

I lose books.

Yes, I read about more than chicken!

Yes, I read about more than chicken!

“Hi, my name is Melinda, and I’m a library loser.”

I lose my mind.

I lose money.  (Which is more important, my mind or my money?  Well, very little of either is left to squabble over.)

My fees were 42 big ones!!

My fees were 42 big ones!!

Yes, I’ve had to pay for a few several lost books.  And a few many, many, too many fines!  My latest one for the long time span of 3 months was: $42!!!

$42 is a steep membership fee for a supposedly free activity.

I lose motivation to go read “free” books, and magazines that end up costing me an arm and a leg!

There goes 1 arm...

There goes 1 arm...

There goes the leg...

There goes the leg…

What’s a loser, like me, to do????

Lose the Library, I guess.  😦

Aha!  Use the Library as a walk-in activity only!  No lending for me!

Later, losers!
