Tiny Teal Table

Authoress51 was worried that I had run outta material.     No, just money!!     I have bought my own dot com, but can’t get it working yet.      And I’m out of storage here on the WP free plan…..     So, until I can get something worked out, I have to recycle.        This is a new post, because I had already loaded the one pic.     I had 3 more, that I wanted to add, but can’t.  😦       I hate publishing posts without pix!!       Thanks for the concern, Authoress!

Well, it definitely is tiny.        And certainly a table.      The teal part, eh, not so much.       But, it is blue!        Which teal is a kind of…..

When I lived in the trailer, PPJr , oops!   ChunkChunk, was in her high chair, and PP sat at the tiny, teal table, and the grown ups used TV trays.           Since CC has outgrown her high chair, she now sits at on a stool, at the dining room table, alongside PP.         S0 now we had no more use for the ttt.

DD1 decided it would make a great plant stand, and out to the porch it went.        That worked for awhile.

Then, it was time for a switch up.       The plants went elsewhere, and the tiny teal table…..

Was left lonely, littered with leaves.       (And plant stakes.)

slob, humor, littered table

Littered with leaves, and plant stakes.

And DD1 decided it was no longer needed in our home, due to its poor condition!       The corners were the worse for wear, and the babies had decided it was too fluffy, and had been pulling the stuffing out, stealthily, for some time.

(Look in the top left corner, really closely!)

Pop was the pall bearer, for the disposal of the body.       Thanks, Pop.        He is so dignified and respectful.

You served us well, tiny, teal table.

Choco Chunk

Long, long ago, someone (or maybe more than one) told me I need to give PPJr her own name.         And I know I should….    just: life, ya know?

So, now I finally decided it’s time.        The poor baby has been Jr long enough!!

PopPop already calls her Chunk.       If you saw her, you’d know why.       I think I may have already stated why.          Why yes, yes I have!            Anyway, it fits!             And, since alliteration is my thang, I thought, well, I already have half her name there, get busy and alliterate!

And in keeping with the food theme, (Pudding Pop) the other part of chunk has to be food.            And what food springs to mind first, that starts with ch??              Chocolate of course!                   But Chunk Chocolate is kinda awkward.       Not to mention way longer.        So, I tried out Chocolate Chunk.          (Isn’t that a candy bar??)               But still, as previously mentioned, too long.

slob, humor, chocolate chunk

Look what turned up, when I searched for chunk!

So I was off by one letter….

Yummy!

Gotta love the purple!

Thinking cap on.

It’s obvious why I had to choose this one, even though I’m not a little boy!

But I had to have this one too!! Couldn’t resist!!

Choco Chunk for the win!!

CC for short.       You’re welcome, Jr!

Pre Preps

Pre preps for imminent, irritation Irma are on going this weekend.  I’m writing this on my phone Sunday night, as my desktop apparently decided it was time to desert this earthly travail.    Argh!!          (update:   Monday it came back to life, after I gave it mouth to USB port resuscitation!)

Talk about frustration!   How am I supposed to blog about hurricane preps on my tiny little phone keyboard??   Vewwy vewwy cawefully!!

Anyway, I took pix, and since I’m on my phone, they should be easier to insert.    Let’s hope!!

Water is always a first essential.    Got it covered.

slob, humor, water stored in the tub

Fresh water- yay!

slob, humor, Water Bob

My new best friend!

TY PopPop!              That’s for drinking.

Second essential is potty. Got that covered:

(I was gonna take a pic of all the tp, but you know what it looks like!)

slob, humor, water for flushing

Flush water- sooooo important!!

Next is food.

Brownies!!         Then peach Coke- of course!           I think that’s all we need.       ( I have lots of other food, it’s just not that important!   lol)

Lights:

slob, humor, flashlight, lantern

Lights- check!

DD1 took babies out of state.  So I know they’re safe.   DD2 was already out of state, so all’s good there.

XH had to evac his mobile, so I demanded asked him over here.   After all, somebody’s got to piggyback my fat butt outta here if the flooding is too bad!   Plus he has a 4×4 truck!

slob, humor, me and XH

Us!     Partying like it’s Hurricane Charley!

(He certainly seems to be happy to be here, doing all the prep work, doesn’t he???)

PopPop is safe at his work.

Grandmama’s building IS a shelter.  So she’s all good.   She’s having a sleepover with friends, in the laundry room!

Sister’s house is Cat 4 rated, so her and kids are safe.   Bubba and Shirley have a sturdy block house, so they’re good.

Let’s see who did I forget??   Oh yeah, Rose was already overseas, so she’s good.   And neighbor Jeannette went to a safe place as well.

All’s well that ends well, for us.    God protected us!!

Praying for the millions still without power, and that lost their homes.

And still praying for Texas, and Louisiana.

Thanks everybody for all the prayers for us!!

Lucy’s Lingo

Well, I might as well make this an official “thing.”

I’m going to repost all my old posts, in order.       What a great way to avoid having to get those pix off my phone!!        lol!!        I’m all for taking the easy way out!

But no, it’s not for me!        It’s for you, my readers!!          Most of you have not been with me from the very beginning, so now you’ll know “the rest of the story.”        Thank you, Paul Harvey!

The 3rd day of my blogging adventure:

With bonus features!!        The alliterative titles, I mean!

The photos were added later.

DD2’s a Dr!!

The photo of me and DD2, was from her graduation as a Dr!!

And the reason there are no photos of my babies: DD1 has a strict no online presence policy.     Which I used to fight her about, until I learned about all the dangers.

Totally Toxic Tub Toypaloosa

Get a load of this load of lovelies!

These is the girl’s totally toxic tub toypaloosa.

(I had already removed the moldy ducks.)

I got these spanking new duckies last week,

slob, humor, ducks

I have ducks!    And they’re in a row!    Look Elizabeth!

and told PP she could only have them if she threw away the old moldy ones.

slob, humor, mildewed duck

This is not even the worst one.     Eeek!

Which she happily did immediately!       She even grabbed the nasty Mama duck, and threw her in the trash too!       Wow!!               4 toys out, only 3 in!!            Score!!

But it’s so embarrassing WHY the poor little innocent ducks had to meet their fate.     They were toxic.         Probably to the nuclear reactor factor- toxic.        😦

But this time is gonna be different!!

slob, humor, clear nail polish
Hopefully this will shut the ducks up, no more squeaking!

I read somewhere a long while back, that to keep toys clean, ya need to plug up the water hole, with nail polish.        So, here we go to test that theory out!

slob, humor, nail polish on duck holes

I’ll try anything!

It worked on the mama duck’s beak, but not so well on the babies’ bottoms.       The nail polish just kept endlessly dripping into the empty cavern.       Need to go back to the drawing board!

Now, to get rid of the other toxic tub toys.

slob, humor, toxic tub toys being thrown away

Buh bye totally toxic tub toys!

Yeah, when PP, and PPJR get back from Daddy’s, they will probably notice a few toys missing.       But, hoping the joy of the new duckies will carry them along for a while!!

Well, I know they are really, really gonna miss this 1 especially.

Pretty dirty mermaid

So, I’m thinking I will try to rescue it with Norwex.        Will post about the rescue effort later.

Busted Bags

We have sooo many bags in this house!!        I thought I’d de-cluttered bags before I moved here.     But, all I can find is references to shopping bags, not purging them. So, we still have a ton of bags.           Well, they’re light, so maybe not a ton, a half a ton???

Anyway, I don’t even know if I can find all the shopping bags, and other assorted bags we own.        But today, I finally decided enough on 2 bags, that were busted.

ENOUGH!        I say!

They’re not even shopping bags, but definitely busted.

First one had PP’s blankie, and sheet from day care in it.        PPJr oh so helpfully unpacked it, then put it on her shoulder, and toted it around.

slob, humor, pretty flowered bag

So very pretty at first glance!!

But when I actually focused on it…

slob, humor, bag handle unravelled
Not a good sign!!

She was not gonna be carrying it around very long!

So, I did the compassionate thing, and laid it to rest.       (After a long pitched battle, to wrest it from the baby’s hands!!           She was determined to love it to the end!!       No pix, or video, thankfully!!       It got really ugly there at the last!)

Since one bag was scheduled for burial, I decided to go ahead and grab the diaper bag, that was busted, and make it a two-fer.

(We were already using the newer one…. just letting the old one hang around for….????)

Definitely past its prime!!

Moment of silence please, for all their years of service.

2 more items down!!         This house will be empty in no time, at this rate!!     😉

Total Towels

Ok, so in Charitable Choice, I posted about giving away 7 towels, just yesterday.

Tonight, there were 2 more baskets of laundry to fold.       Guess what the majority of the items were??

If you said towels, you win!

In these 2 loads, there were   14   towels total!

slob, humor, keeping towels

Keeping these 10.

And we had just given away 7!!         And there were 10 already in the cabinet!!

Total towels we had previously:  31 !!!!         For only 2 adults, and 2 kids!         Me thinks we had waaaay too many towels!

So, we culled out some more:

slob, humor, towels leaving this time

Towels going bye!!

Leaving this go round: 4 towels, 2 hand towels, and 1 washrag.

And 1 baby shirt, that’s too little for PPJr now.

And we still have 20 left…… {towels, not baby shirts.   I’m sure we have way more than 20 baby shirts!}

Oh yeah!       And 1 wash rag that only had a lil ole hole in it, that I helped along on its journey.

That was fun, ripping into that!!        I love to destroy stuff!!

It wasn’t even rag bag worthy, at that point!!        See ya!

Now, we aren’t suffocating in towels anymore!!        But still have plenty, just in case the leaky skylight floods the bathroom!     (again)

Delightful Dirt Digging

Last Friday night, when the girls came home, I decided it was time to introduce them to dirt.         Well, actually, introduce PPJr to dirt.        PP and dirt have a long standing serious relationship already going on.       Next to rocks, her 2nd favorite toy is dirt!   Sticks come in a very close third.

slob, humor, hierarchy of toys

PP’s Hierarchy of Natural Toys

(apologies to Maslow)

So, out to the dungeon flower bed we went.

PP jumped right into helping,

slob, humor, Omie & PP weeding

Omie showing PP how to weed.  “No sweetie, pull from the bottom!                            That’s called, picking flowers!”

and showing me all the rocks, and snails, and baby eggs she found.      I’m not sure what the “Baby eggs” were, but she enjoyed finding them!     ( Tiny white spheres, that were very brittle.)        And I promptly “Ooohh”ed and “Ahhhh”ed over each, to her satisfaction.

I tried putting Jr down in the dirt, NOPE!      She wasn’t having ANY of that!!          Every time I picked her up, then tried to put her down, she bent her legs 90 degrees, so I literally couldn’t stand her up!

After 4 or 5 times, I thought,  “Ya know what??      She wants to sit??         Sit she shall!!”   And I plunked her butt right down in the dirt.      (She had dirt already on her knees from falling, as she tried to walk.        Maybe that was why she was so adamant about not being in the dirt!)

slob, humor, PPJr toes in dirt

No!!!           I can’t touch dirt!!

She was not happy!!    She immediately raised both feet, like they were scalded!!       And refused to put down her hands.       I just ignored her, and kept weeding.      Finally I guess she was convinced that I wasn’t trying to poison her!

slob, humor, sisters in dirt

PP shows little sister that dirt don’t hurt!

So, she put her feet, and hands down, and started touching the dirt.

Next thing I know, she’s covered with dirt, and eating it!!

Play date over!!

slob, humor, Omie and my 2 girls

We got a lot done, though!!            Yay, us!

Inside for a good old fashioned hosing off!!         Except, back in the day, I woulda stripped her, and hosed her off right there in the yard!!        Nowadays, we have to be civilized, and use the tub!       {Not to mention, Omie don’t want to get arrested for causing public nudity, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor!}

This is an 8 house post.         Due to Shirley’s aversion to the long list, I will skip it today.  You’re welcome, Sis.

Today’s Plan: Plotted Plants

After last time in the garden, I was left with a farmer’s French tip mani.

Actually, a negative French tip:  black where it’s supposed to be white!

But, I had hardly touched the flower beds, so I had to go back out, and brave the heat, once again.

So, Thurs morning, after I dropped DD1 off at work, I came home, and it was only 8 am. The sun was barely touching the side of the house, and the ground was still wet with dew.      I thought, “Eh, I might as well weed some.      Then, I’ll reward myself with a long nap!!”        You know how I looooove my naps!

First I had to just stop a second, and admire my work!!         Then face today’s task.

Do you how hard it is to bend over, and pull weeds??           When you’re 5’10”??         And have a big, fat tummy, from regaining ALL the weight you had previously lost???

Just in case you have no idea, from personal experience, it’s very!!        Hard, that is.

I managed to get this much done, before I almost dropped.     I only weeded close to the lamp post, so I could lean on it.    I gotta get a gardening stool, or somethin!!

slob, humor, half way weeded

Yay!! Good thing I have long arms!!

Yes, you can see the tip of PP’s shoe, because I took this after pic, much later!        And I believe that pale blur is PPJr’s leg.

By the time I get the whole flower bed weeded, it’ll be next year!!

I know that’s not very positive, but I know myself!!

Besides, I do have a very good excuse for not being out in the sun.         Really!        I do! The severest side effect of one of my meds is- the reaction of my skin to the sun.      It causes damage, not to mention how hideous it looks!

So, sorry, I can’t come outside and help you mow/set up your yard sale/ teach you to ride a bike/ play lawn darts.       My pharmacist said No!

However, if I park close enough to the house, I can usually make it to Vanronica, without bursting into flames!!

RIP Recliner

I sat in the recliner, and gave a little, sideways, jerking twitch, to move it over away from the wall.      Which I have done many, many times before.     And to my surprise, the back came half way off!!

slob, humor, recliner back detached

Oopsie! That’s a problem!

Thankfully, XH was here, and put it back on, but warned me to be careful.       Of course, I promised I would.

Friday, I was holding PPJr, and rocking her to sleep.     When her lights went out, I leaned to the side, and pulled up the lever, to recline.

To my horror, and her terror, we both fell backwards, almost to the floor!

(I was too traumatized to take a pic, even later.      I just averted my eyes, from that whole corner, outta respect for the chair’s pain, and pride.)

I jumped up, as fast as I can, holding a 28 lb screaming baby, and came into my room.   I’m so grateful someone gave me this rocker, as a housewarming gift!!

slob, humor, wicker rocker

1 solid piece!! No detachable parts!

Finally soothed the baby back to sleep, and put her down in bed.       I climbed in beside her, and nodded off to sleep myself.       We both slept for 2 hours.     I guess it took that long to recover from the trauma!!

And the recliner stayed there, backless.      Gaping wide open, in pain, and humiliated.

Till Sunday night, when PopPop, (SF) came over.      I begged him to see if he could help it in any way.

Happily, he was able to put the back on again.

slob, humor, repaired recliner

All better!!

But he warned me that I had bent the supports…..      So, I’m thinking it’s only a matter of time…..
