Glasses Galore

I had waaaay too many glasses.

The plastic glasses, the mugs, the grape goblets, the sippy cups, the real glass glasses…

AAAAHHHHH!

Too.Many.Drinking.Containers.

So, I got out my trusty “How to De-Clutter Too Many Glasses” Guide.

#1 said, Get rid of superfluous ones.  So, the glass one with tiny Coke bottles all over it went, because I never used it due to the tile floors.

#2.  If you have a set you like, and use, keep it.  So, I kept the grape goblets.

#3   If you don’t drink coffee, how many mugs do you need?  So, I got rid of a few of those.

#4   If the grand baby still needs a sippy cup, keep at least one.  Done.

#5   Why are you keeping plastic ones that are bent?  So, the Tampa General one that was now oval, instead of round, bit the dust.

#6   Consolidate the shelves.

20150525_181434      Notice the empty shelf above??  Pretty nice, huh?

20150525_181354          I’m allowed to keep these.  Uh, huh!  The book said!

Stuff to donate:

20150525_181608    Yeah, you didn’t see some of these in the befores, because they were in other cabinets. smh  Don’t ask me why!  I don’t have any better idea than you do!

Yes! Fist pump!  Looks so much better now!  And I have a prayer of fitting all my glasses (real glass or not), into my new, tinier kitchen!

I’ll take that as a WIN!

20150525_175643I truly do not ever remember seeing this mug, before, in MY LIFE.

Before

Before

Oh my goodness, I can’t believe this.  I was just going through my pictures on the PC, and guess what?  Yup, I deleted these afters, because I “remembered” already uploading them to the blog.  Eeeerrrrgggh

I annoy myself.

Please imagine how great the shelves looked, all cleared out and de-cluttered!

They were fabulous!

Ooooohhh, the recycle bin!!!  Maybe there’re still there!  Everyone cross your fingers!!

Ah! So much better!

Ah! So much better!

Hurray for whomever invented the recycle bin!

Let’s see what else I can dig outta there…

(Nope, sorry.  I guess I had already emptied it too.  Darn me!  Why do I have to pick NOW to start tidying up the computer’s trash???  WEll, actually I guess it’s a good thing.  Virtual clutter is clutter too, I guess.)

Yay me, finding a moral in the story!

🙂

Extra Extra Expedit Expedition

20150317_221510  Yes, you’ve already seen both these pix.  Deja vu, anyone?

Now that we’ve gotten the boxes off the top, (remember how hard that was???  I’m still having nightmares about reaching over my head!)

And Mama has organized the books, as much as she could in the time allotted;  we are gonna tackle the rest of the behemoth.

Yes, we took care of the blue bin already.

Time to get nit picky, and go for the gold.

See that material way on top?  That’s for my friend, Shirley’s quilt.  Nah, she doesn’t mind if I blog instead of sew.  It’s at least 6 months away from being cold!

So much random crap, I mean, stuff on these shelves!

Christmas ornaments?  Yup, don’t you leave yours out all year?  C’mon now, I know some of you do.  I’ve driven by your porches!  (I’m looking at you, Sweet Friend.)

BTW, I know I’m supposed to be de-cluttering, but don’t lay a finger on my Butterfinger books.  You’ll draw back a nub, mister.

But, I did take a deep breath, and donate the books.  That was traumatic.

Working on it

Working on it

A nice friend came over to help me.   She was firm, but gentle, making me throw away sentimental items, like cards, AND  DD2’s baby cap.  That she wore home from the hospital!!!

DD2’s Home from Hospital cap

Now how ever will I remember that I brought DD2 home from the hospital when she was born???     Waaahh!

But, I do want to recover my home from slobbery, so….    I bit the bullet, and did it.

Thank you nice friend, for pushing me a little, to make better choices.

Looking better!

All the way there! YAY!

All the way there! YAY!

I’m exhausted, by all this extra expediting.  Time for a nap!
