Quipped Quote

Another quote challenge!!     YAY!    Thanks, Judy!!    I accept gladly!      Judy is a lovely girl from the UK, who loves to write in rhyme!      This is the second challenge she has issued to me!   And I do believe I’m up for it!     We’ll soon see!

{First tho, I gotta go make an icon for it!!       I did for the Declutterathon, so I hold out hope!}

Challenge

YAYA!!        I did it!!       Who did it??     Well, ok, me and the tech support.      Anyone surprised that it’s all purple-ish??       Anyone???

Alrightey then!        {rubs hands briskly together}         Onward to the quotes!!

Wait, wait, wait!!!         Oh my goodness!    What??        You forgot to give the rules!!       And so I did!        Thanks for reminding me!

Here we go!      Gotta get the legalese in there, ya know!

Rules of the challenge:

  1. Three quotes over three days.
  2. Three nominees each day (no repetition).
  3. Thank the person who nominated you.
  4. Inform the nominees.

(I already thanked Judy.    Now I gotta go do the hard stuff, of picking just 3 people!)

Can you guess where I’m drawing my quote from??

slob, humor, purse

I LOVE the Scripture!! And the structure!!

You didn’t expect me to say purse, did ya??       Actually it’s from the Holy Bible, New Testament.

I’ve found it to be true, in my life, over and over again.     God is the God of the impossible!! He saved my soul from sin.    He baptized me in the Holy Spirit.    He delivered me from a spirit of fear.     He’s healed me many times!

Come back tomorrow, to see what says who??        Um, don’tcha mean “Who says what??”     Yeah, whatev.

I love quoting from the Bible!!

And my nominees are:

I hope you girls accept and have fun!       If not, no worries!!

(I promise I’ll tell them, as soon as this posts!)

WOW! Willow!

WOW!!   Just wow!   Willow re-blogged me again!!    AND, she said I was funny!!!!  https://willowscottling.wordpress.com/2016/06/22/willow-wonders-witnessed/

She and I have formed our own private circle of love!   This is how my BBFFJ and I became BBFFs, by re-blogging each other, and featuring each other.   Bloggy friends are so supportive!    I’m so glad I found my niche, here on the blogosphere!!

Now, I have my BBFFJ, {I’ve mentioned Janice so many times lately, I think I’m gonna start charging her per!    NOT!!    It just means I have more cred in my BBFFJ account!}my college BFF Joyous, my Ethel BFF (Claremary), and now I am adding Willow.    What will her BFF name be??    BBFFW??    Best Blogging Friend Forever Willow.    That sounds about right!!

WAIT!!    You can’t have 2 best blogging friends!

Why not??    Who made up the rule that you can only have 1 best friend anyways??

Umm, well, not me, but it just can’t be!!

Ok, well, then Willow will be my 2nd best blogging friend forever.

NO!!  NO!!    What are we, in KG???

Well, if you will remember, I did teach Kg for several years….

slob, humor, Kindergarten

Fun, fun, fun ALL the day long! (NOT!!)

{groan}

Fine.    May I call Willow my BFFW??   Pretty please, with a cherry on top?

Let me mull it over….

I’ve made my decision.     Willow will now, and forever more be called your Blogging Friend Forever Willow, BFFW for short.

Thank you.

Ok Willow, I got it figgered out!!    You can come over and play now!   I got the blankie fort all ready!   I ‘membered how you like tiny spaces!!

slob, humor, blanket fort

Just enough room for my BFFW, and me!

Willow Wonders Witnessed

Willow Wonders  was a challenge from Momma, to answer Willow’s  many, many questions. Yesterday, or was it the day before???  You witnessed the first part of her wonders.   Today you will witness the second part.

Take it away Willow.

Are book covers important in getting you to read a book?

Oh yes!!   If it’s purple, that pretty much guarantees I’ll pull it out and look at it!

How many shoes do you have? Are there any orphan shoes? Why do you keep them?

Shoes, you say??    Well, I had only 1 pr, when I was a major minimalist.   (Besides 1 pr slippers.)    Then I practically became Imelda Marcos, and doubled my inventory to two prs.  No orphans!   If there were, I’d still be barefoot!

slob, humor, shoes

That’s all folks!       (Those toes are such attention hogs!!)

How would you describe your housekeeping strategy?

Hoo boy!!   A toughie!     All ya have to do is reread the name of my blog, and you have a real good idea of my strategy!   As in- none that you can see.

If you could be a superhero, would you take that chance?

I’m a mama, and now an Omie, so didn’t I already???

If you had the wherewithal to invent something, anything, what would it be?

A totally self cleaning house!!

If you had to live for a month on what’s in your refrigerator, would you make it?

Umm, considering half the stuff in there is likely rotting…. probably not!

Name something that seemed inconsequential but had a huge influence on your life (for example, a commercial, a postcard, or something you might have overheard).

Man, these are deep questions!!    How long did it take you to think them up??   Um, learning to read when I was 5.

How do you feel about the idea of Artificial Intelligence? Or robots in general?

Terrified!   But how do we know they’re not already here??   DD1 jokes that Sweet Friend is one, because he pretends not to have emotions.

What “redneck” (unsophisticated) activity do you like to do?

Better to ask what “highbrow” thing I like to do!  Cuz I am a redneck!   Proudly so!   Ok, I love to go barefoot, ALL the time!

slob, humor, bare feet

These little piggies…

What (if anything) do you think is beyond the stars?

God, and heaven.

What are the most common lies your peer group tells?

Blondes have more fun.   Age is just a number.

Are there characteristic about yourself that you find annoying in other people?

Does reading out loud count??   Cuz I HATE to listen to people read out loud.   If that doesn’t count, let’s see…   Oh, definitely impatience!

What do you think of when you think of California?

Earthquakes, smog, sunshine, Hollywood which is almost synonymous with evil, in my mind.  Too much sex, violence, and death in movies.

Is there a food that is too much work for you to eat?

Crab legs.  EX did them for me, when we were married!    I loved him so much, at those times!

And still Willow has more questions!!   She is a very inquisitive girl.  (or woman.  I still don’t know her, much to my embarrassment.)

But, that’s all we have time for today, folks.   See ya next time, same slob time, same slob channel!

Willow Wonders

My friend, Momma, posted  “Willows-got-questions.”    When I commented on it, she challenged me to answer them too.

So, here goes.   Willow wonders:

1.Does jet-lag affect you?

BIG time!!   Usually I recover by the 3rd day.   Hopefully, I didn’t have to leave on the 2nd day!

2.Are you afraid to walk alone at night?

Nope!   Never have been!    By myself, that is!   I would not be so brave, if I had to take my grand kids with me!

3.How did it make you feel the first time you ever held a baby in your arms — yours or someone else’s?

At almost 3, I picked up my newborn brother, walked across the room, and sat down in my little rocking chair.   My heart nearly burst with love for him.   And awe that he was real, not just a doll!

4.Do you fold your undergarments and socks?

Mercy, NO!!   The only time my undies have been folded, (since I left my Mama’s house) is when DD1 “kon-maried” me.

slob, humor, kon maried undies

Kon-maried!!

I was paying her to fold my clothes, and put them away, so of course she took the L O N G way home!

5.Is there a specific place where you go to think? where is it and why there?

Not on purpose, but apparently it’s bed.   When I’m trying to go to sleep, I always think of great blog posts, clever retorts to conversations days ago….

6.How many houseplants do you have? How are they faring?

Um, I’m on the National “Do NOT Let Her Have Houseplants” List, so I have none.    And believe me, they’re ALL much better off!

7.Do you have a garden — flower or vegetable?

Yes!  I’m allowed to have outside plants, per my probation.    And since God waters them, I’m happy to say I haven’t killed a one!  Yet!    (Although, the Jasmine’s neck is on the chopping block…)

slob, humor, purple flower

Purple Flower

8.How many hats do you own? Do you wear them all?

Virtual??  Or physical??

Physical hats, I have 1 purple knitted winter hat.  Sure!   I wear it during the 8.7 hours of winter here!   (when I can find it, that is.)

9.Does your best friend call you their best friend?

Depends on which best friend you mean??   My Blogging Best Friend Forever Janice, Better known as BBFFJ, certainly calls me her BBFF, too.

slob, humor, Janice Wald

My BBFFJ, AKA Janice Wald  from www.mostlyblogging.com

My BF from college, we still call each other “twin”.   Much closer even than BF!

slob, humor, best friends

My college BFF, Joyous and our kids

But I don’t have a dog.

10.Do you struggle to finish a bad book or do you set it aside forever?

I have struggled thru a few.  And once or twice, I have even *gasp* set them aside forever.   But, they have to be REALLY horrible before I would go to such an extreme measure with a book!

11.Have you ever been in a food fight?

AS in, who gets the last piece of chicken??   Many times!!

12.Have you ever brought a stray animal home?

Do boyfriends count??   Lol   No, I hated animals, until I fell in love with my Emily, when I was in my 30s.    She was a tiny 8 week old Cock-apoo.

13.Can a well-written book make you care about their characters enough to cry for them?

Of course!   They’re real people too!

14.How do you deliver bad news?

From behind a catcher’s mask!    Just kidding.   I had to tell my 2 nieces their dad died, and I just hugged them tight, and gently said it.   Then kept hugging them, as long as they wanted to be held.

15.In general, how do you feel when you come home from a long vacation?

So thrilled to be home, I say “I’m never leaving home again!”   Then, I go jump in bed, because I’m so tired.

Willow has many, MANY more questions!    (40 more, to be precise)    But, I think this is enough for today!

Thanks, Momma and Willow!
