Real, Reat Reward

Of course, I mean “Real Neat Blog Award”!!

Sweet Elizabeth, from Comfortable Coop, nominated me for the Real Neat Blog Award.   Thanks, Elizabeth!!       You are a great writer, and friend!!

It’s always such a surprise, and serious thrill!! to see my name, on one of these award posts!!

slob, humor, real neat blog award             slob, humor, real neat blog award

I had to put it twice, just in case you didn’t catch it the first time!!     😉

You know the drill by now:

RULES:

This award is designed for people who have a “real neat blog!”

Those participating should ~
• Put the award logo on your blog.
• Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.
• Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
• Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.
• Let them know you nominated them (by connecting on their blog, etc.)
• Ask your nominees 7 questions.

Everybody has a real neat blog!!       So, everybody gets an award!!          Seriously, you want it, you got it!       How did Heather get people to nominate themselves??    I’ll have to go back, and take a look!!

These are the 7 questions from Elizabeth, for her nominees:

  1. Is there something that you do that makes you really happy when you’re feeling down?

Singing!!     I might cry, but it always lifts my spirit, to sing praises to the Lord!

  1. Is there someone (real or fictional) who inspires you? Who is it and why does this person inspire you?

My friend, Jan S.     She has a real bad bone disease, and breaks bones just by sneezing, sometimes.     She’s always in pain.     But she is the most loving, happy, always cheerful person you will ever meet!     You can just see the joy of the Lord in her face!

  1. Do you spend a lot of time listening to, reading, or watching the news?

Nope!!      I try to avoid it as much as possible!   I have enough depression tendencies, just by myself!!      I do read the missing kids alerts, on FB.  I forward them, and pray the child will be found alive, and unharmed.

  1. Are you a night owl or a morning person?
slob, humor, night owl

Night owl.

This is a funny question!     In my childhood, all the way up till I went back to teaching, in my 40’s, I was always a night owl!     Now, I want to be asleep with the chickens, otherwise known as grandbabies!!

  1. Do you have any pets? What kind and what are their names?

No, thank goodness.      The only pet I ever had as mine, was Emily.

I’ve never loved another animal, either before, or since.

  1. Do you talk to yourself out loud?

Yes, of course!!     Doesn’t everyone need expert advice, now and again??

     7. Is Jesus your savior?

Yes!!   And I’m so excited to see this question, Elizabeth!!      Thank you!!      It is THE single most important question in all of existence!       Having Jesus as your Savior is the difference between eternity with God, in heaven, or spending eternity in hell, if He is not your Savior.

slob, Jesus the Savior

Okay, now the hard part:

Nominate people.

Oh please, just nominate yourselves!!      And if you do, I’ll come back, and fill in your name, so your nomination will be all official, and stuff!!     Okay?  I hate playing favorites, and having to pick people for my team!!     Or worse, feeling like someone chose me last!      (Oh wait!     This part isn’t about me!      Sorry!     Can you tell I wasn’t too enthusiastic about elementary school team sports??)

I really like Elizabeth’s questions, so I’m copying them!        (Just remember Elizabeth, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!!)

Blooming Blossoms or Blossoming Blooms

I couldn’t make up my mind, which one to use, so I did both.  Ya know, like a magazine sometimes has 2 different covers??  (Yeah, I think I’m an international sensation!!)

Here it is November, and my leggy plants are still blooming!  Let’s celebrate!

White (oh boy, this one’s gonna be tough…)  can we skip this one and come back to it?  Thanx.

Green grass growing great.  (Kapow!  Knocked that one outta the park!)

green grass, pipe

Nope, not my yard. But I forgot to take a pic of MY grass, so this’ll have to do.

(It is the canal, at my park, tho.      Please ignore the ugly pipe.  If only I knew how to crop pix, by myself!!)

God grows a great garden!!

Update 2/8/17:  Sadly, Pearly has deleted her site.     😦

☆THE RULES

1. Thank whoever nominated you and include a link to their blog.

2. Write a post and give a brief story of how your blog started.

3. Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers.

4.Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to.

5.Let the nominees know you have nominated them and provide a link to the nomination details.

Okay, #1-done    #2- gonna do that little thing right now.

I have been a life long slob.  And I was SICK of it!  I’d been reading cleaning, organizing, and purging blogs.  Kristen, from RoadtoDomestication was the first one I read, since she’s a personal friend.

It is great!  But, she’s naturally organized, and I’m not, so nothing changed.  Then I found Nony, from ASlobComesClean.

And she’s a self admitted slob!  I had found my people!!

So, I determined to take control of my life, one dust bunny at a time.  I started my blog Aug. was a year ago.  Everyday I’d do something, no matter how small, and document it in writing, and pix.  My first post, First Day, was the beginning.

me big girl

Me at 344 lbs. Yep, I was a BIG girl!

Now I’m an experienced blogger with a lot less junk in my life, who has improved health, as well.  My life is so satisfying now.

#3, Advice.

Hmmm, I don’t really feel qualified to give advice, just tell you what worked for me.  Figure out what you want to say.  It has to be important to you, or you’ll lose interest.  Then, start saying it!!  And proofread, proofread, proofread!  I re-read my posts multiple times before I publish, and still mistakes make it thru.  That’s so embarrassing for a Grammar Nazi!!!

#4, 15 other blogs.  That I can do easily!  I know so many wonderful bloggers, just choosing 15 will be the hard part!

Max’s Memo

I’m so surprised to be nominated for another Sunshine Award!  This is so cool, that people feel I bring sunshine into their world!  I hope I do to yours as well.

sunshine blogger award

Thanks, InspiringMax!

The Rules:

  •  Thank the person/people who nominated you
  • Answer the eleven questions from your nominator(s)
  • Nominate eleven other bloggers and give them eleven questions to answer.

Questions given to me:

  1. Where is your favorite place you have lived?

Plant City, Fl.  I was born there, and will always consider it home, because both my Granny, and my Grandma, lived there till they died.

strawberry

Plant City, FL The Winter Strawberry Capital of the World

If you could change one thing what would it be?

This is hard.  Before March, I would have said my weight.  Before a year ago August, I would have said my slobbishness.  Before June, I would have said owning my own home.  Now, hmmmm, I would change America back to a Christian country.

What is your favorite childhood memory?

My Mama hugging me.

What is your dream job?

Being a proofreader.  And now I get to do that every time I write a post! Yay!  I just don’t get paid. 😦

What was your best subject at school?

Reading.  Wonder why???

4 journals

4 of 6 journals

Do you prefer to live in the country or the city?

Oh, definitely country-ish.  I don’t want to live in the middle of a million people, but I don’t want to have to drive 5 miles to even get to the road, either!  I like exactly where I am.  And that’s a nice place to be!

If you were stranded on a desert island which celebrity would you take with you?

A celebrity?  Hmmm, maybe Tim Tebow, so we could talk about Jesus.

Everyone has a song that makes them want to dance, what is yours?

Everybody Get Up and Dance Now!

Favorite colour?

I’ll let my readers answer this one. Y’all know it!

make all things purple

YES!! Please!!

Do you prefer camping, caravaning or staying in motels?

Motels, by a landslide.  I hated camping as a kid.  My brother would run his finger along the canvas right on top of my head.  Yuck!!  Drip, drip.  He invented water boarding!

How many different careers have you had?

Umm, not paying ones?  Or only counting when I got paid?  Non paying; about 15.  (babysitter for my siblings, piano player at church, professional serial dater in college, clown, Grammar Nazi, etc.)  Paying: only about 7.  (retail sales, McDonald’s, transport for hospital, teacher, sub teacher, mentor/tutor, call center.  Oh yeah, 8- my 2 day career as a nanny.  54 is TOO OLD to watch 3 in diapers!!)

(I know the numbers are messed up. It did that when I added the pix.  And I’m gonna leave them like that, because I’m not gonna be OCD today.)
