Excellently Exciting!!

I was gonna wait, till I finished all my posts, but I can’t, I’m too excited!

I just moved!  {We know, Melinda, you just moved into “MY First Place All on My Own” 6 months ago.  So what’s news about that???

No, I mean I JUST MOVED!!  AGAIN!!  YESTERDAY!!

WHAT????

Yup!  I was bustin outta the seams of My First Place, what with ALL MY stuff, and ALL PP’s stuff, and then we have PP Jr. set to arrive in April…

And you know babies come with their own HOUSEFUL of stuff!

So…..  I decided on Saturday, 11/21/15 that I needed to move.  The next day, {Sunday the 22nd, for those of you like me who are calendar challenged}

I drove 1 street over, where I knew I had seen a for sale sign.  AS I was writing down the number, I hear a “HEY!”  I looked across the street, to see a woman motioning to me.  

“Are you looking to buy a place?”  Um, that would be why I’m writing down this phone number, yes….  Fortunately, I was able to keep that thought internal.   Go me!

I responded, “Yes.”   She said “I’m selling mine!”   How many bedrooms?

Two.   My ears and eyes perk up!   How much?   “$1,000.00.”    

Eeerch!!   You’ve never seen anybody drive across a street so fast!!

We sat down, after looking it over and made a deal!   Wednesday, when my expected check arrived, I RAN to the bank to cash it, and RAN back to give her the money!  She signed the title, and away I went to the tag office.   She forgot to sign the front, so I called her.  Thankfully, she was driving right by, so she stopped in and signed it.

Now I’m the proud owner of TWO homes!!  I never imagined in my whole life that I would be rich enough to own 2 homes!!  I better enjoy this  week, it won’t ever happen again!   I’m showing it tomorrow, and praying someone buys it before the first, when the rent is due!  {which is Tuesday, tomorrow!! for those of us who are calendar challenged.}

I don’t even have a picture, cuz I was so excited.  Why aren’t you surprised by that???  Update:    I didn’t sell it for THREE months!!!    Yeah, so that was $1,000.00  in rent on an empty place.    😦    And I was only asking $1200!     So, I got desperate, and ended up selling it for just $10.00,  (YES!  TEN)  just to get it outta my name!!     The guy couldn’t hand me that Hamilton fast enough!!    And I’ll have that #1,100 loan paid off by June September 2017.     All’s well that ends well…

IT’S WINTER!!

I know y’all Yankees, oops, I mean Northerners, will laugh at me, but it’s cold!!

Wait, I’ll prove it!

See??  54 is COLD!!!  I had to wear a SWEATER!  and SOCKS, and GLOVES, to drive!  This is serious, people!  (Yeah, along with no air, my car has no heat either.  Joy {insert sarcasm font here}.  Hey, but at least it has an engine, that RUNS!!)

Proof that indeed, I put on socks, and even shoes!!  My winter shoes, even!  (Snaggletooth voice.  Anybody remember him?  It’s actually Snagglepuss.  Thank you Carmen!)

Hey, something interesting about gloves- did you know with gloves on, I couldn’t answer my phone??  True!  I finally swiped it with my nose!!

Thoughtful Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a wonderful day.  We can just sit around with our families, most of us anyway, eating and visiting.

I’m so grateful for my whole family.  My  daughters, DD1, and DD2, and SIL (son-in-law), and PP.  Then there’s DH, and Sweet Friend .  And my birth family- Mama, Brother, and Shirley his wife,  Sister, and her kids Nick, Kristen, and Jaime, and 1 special Ex-Step-mother.

Then my whole extended family, on both sides- Hawkins and Chaney.  If I tried to name them all, I’d use up all my memory here on WP, just for their names!!

I will be with my peeps, eating the fore-amentioned pies, and being so thankful to God for ALL my blessings.

 

One of my biggest blessings is my home, but something big is in the works there…..   You have to wait! It’s a surprise!  I know, I know, I hate it when people do this to me too!!  Sorry!!

Anyway, as I was saying, my biggest blessing is Jesus Christ, my Savior.  Then my family, friends, church, etc.  Last on the list are things: my home, my car, etc….   Things should never come before people!

 

Another blessing we all enjoy here in America, is freedom!  And it definitely isn’t free!  Thank you Veterans!!

So, Celebrate!  Be thankful!!  Eat, drink, and be merry!  Most of all, appreciate all your blessings every day.

I love y’all.   Y’all are a big blessing to me for reading, laughing, and commenting.   Thank you!!

Putrid Purse

Aha!  I have finally de-cluttered something!  Only 1 thing, but whatever!  I have de-cluttered!!

 

I haven’t been able to say that for over a month.  (We won’t say HOW far over!)

Here is my pretty purse, that Aunt Sherry gave me for my birthday.  (Yes, Aunt Sherry from the porch.  If you missed it, go read all about it!)

Unhappily, something happened, and all at once, all 4 handles were coming unglued.

 

It was weird!  All 4, just hanging by threads!  All at the same time!!  I don’t remember doing anything to cause that.   

Anyhoo, can’t use it like that, I might lose all my valuables!!  Yes, my watermelon Purell IS very valuable, to ME!!  {Do you KNOW how much this stuff costs at Bath and Boo boo Works???  And it has a hanging strap!!}

 

 

So, regretfully, I kissed the purse goodbye, dangled it over the trash bin…

and let   it    goooooo.

Don’t you just love Thanksgiving??  I do !  So much!!  It was the first truly American holiday.  Just colonists, and Native Americans giving thanks together, to God, for the harvest and surviving another year.   No shopping, just family, and friends, eating and celebrating, enjoying each other’s company.

(And just like us, probably passing out, after the sugar rush of all those pies!  Oh, is that just my family?)

{I just hope I don’t have plumbing problems the day of the dinner!!  Asking guests to stick their hand in the tank to flush is a WHOLE nother matter, than doing it myself!!}

Oh, the dress??  It’ll be done by the 26th, I promise!

It was the best of days, it was the worst of days.  Why?  Well, let me just entertain you with my pain.

I went to help my Sister clear the way for new furniture. Yay new furniture!  Everything was humming along, but I was getting tired.

As I went thru the dining room, suddenly her dog decided that he needed to occupy the EXACT SAME SPACE as ME, THAT SECOND!  AS you know from my pix, there is NOT a thigh gap between my legs!  Not even a tiny one.  And her dog isn’t tiny!  Did I mention he’s a HUGE 100 pound Rottweiler??  (He thinks he’s still a puppy lap dog, too!)  So, as you might expect, I hit the deck.  Not with an exclamation of joy, either.

So, as I lay there, stunned, my sister is frantically checking me out.  

“Can you hear me??  How many fingers am I holding up??  Are you bleeding??”

Yes, I can hear you loud and clear- you’re shouting in my ear!  And, I’d be able to see better if your fingers weren’t in my eyes!

JK, she was not shouting, and not poking me in the eye either.  But it sounds funnier than the truth.

Thank God, I was not broken, or bleeding.  I did give myself a good jolt, and some pretty purple bruises will be blooming tomorrow, I feel confident!  And, oh- how I wanted to kick that dog!!

But how can you be mean to him, when he just looks up at you so adoringly and says, “Hey, that game was fun, let’s do it again!!”

Sewing Sew Sew

What have I gotten myself into now??  I just finished the niece‘s baby quilt last, last, last Thursday (3 ago).  Now here I am starting ANOTHER quilt??  (For my Sister-in-law, Shirley- ya know, the one I promised Brother last January???)  Am I crazy??  (Well, that’s already well established, no need to answer!)

AND!!!!  I’m planning to do a Thanksgiving dress for PP!!!!!   I AM INSANE!!!

Just purchased the Thanksgiving material, (and Christmas too, if I MUST confess) for PP, on Veteran’s Day.

It was on sale!!  60% off the harvest, and 50% off Christmas!!  With a 40% off coupon!!!  I HAD to buy it!! Right then!!

(Even though I had to borrow the money, totally worth it!! to me, anyway!!)

I’m gonna be busier than “2 squirrels in a wool sock”!  (Thanks, Cindy D. for that saying!)

Shirley did come over and cut up all the squares, which I can’t do.  (Remember that pesky little wreck, back in February??

Boy, I do.  Every time I try to use my left arm!)

Totally Tanked

I’m about to totally lose it!   Toilet troubles, again!!!  How many times is that, since I moved in in June???  600!!  Give or take….

It’s a catastrophe, that’s making me cranky, and crazy!!  CRAY-CRAY, I tell you!!!

 

This is Tuesday night, and the chain slipped off again, Monday night.  DH came over this morning and “Fixed ” it.  By after lunch, it wouldn’t flush again!  Is he “fixing” it with a wad of gum????

He said I was flushing “Too Hard”.   Wow, I didn’t realize the power I was unleashing in my mighty index finger!!

Re-enactment: at sweet friend’s house.  Somehow my originals from this morning didn’t make it thru the wormhole.

 So, I’ve promised to only push with my poor, pitiful, powerless pinky.  Hopefully problem solved!  (I doubt it, but we’ll see……)

Who cleans their toilet tank??  You mean, that’s a thing?  You’re supposed to??  Oops!  I didn’t get the memo!

I’m just so sick of the drama.   Seriously considering installing an outhouse, sans corn cobs!   Off to check the park regulations on that…..

dreaded doorbell deadline

Yesterday, (many yesterdays ago, now) I got a phone call.

(By candlelight, apparently)

“I’m coming over, be there in an  hour.”

So, I’m guessing each one is 15 minutes??

Panic! Only 1 hour get ready!!

First time visitor! I want to make a good impression!  I haven’t seen her in over 2 yrs!

Nony calls it F.O.U.D.  Fear of unexpected doorbell.  Perfect description, and diagnosis!

Took a quick shower.

Dishes-10 min or less.

5 min pick up was all I needed!  Had time to sit down for lunch.

Whew! So relieved in such good shape since blog.

Left floor- oh well. Visitable not perfect!

Relaxed and enjoyed visit.

But then she wanted to go in bedroom!

Sigh. Oh well at least I made a good first impression!
