My Series:
Seven Seconds Scullery Scrape – now showing on a screen right in front of you.
Yesterday I finally had to do it. I had to face this:
And actually DO something about it. I put it off as long as I could. BUT, I didn’t have a post ready for today, so…… needs must.
First, I bribed myself by eating an ice cream bar. And, I told myself I could have another one, after. Yeah, right! You can’t eat just one! Okay, so I ate 2 before, and promised myself 2 after. Do the exact numbers really matter?? Do the exact number of minutes you worked really matter?? Well, duh! Of course they do!! Okay then, the exact number of ice cream bars matters too! (grumble, grumble) Point taken. So, then, I also reminded myself I ONLY had to do 15 minutes. At a time!! You could always do more!! (snicker) Oh, you were serious.
So, suit up, we’re diving in.
First, I grabbed the big stuff, empty play doh cans, etc, and filed them in #13. (“Big” being a relative term here, since they were miniature cans.) Sponge pieces, random flotsam and jetsam, spare popsicle sticks, (do you remember how hard I had to work to get those????), and the yellow artist’s palette. I did save the crayons, tho.
So cute! PP’s accidental sculptures!! I know she had no idea it would harden when she just left it. I was tempted to display them in her “Gallery” – read room, but I managed to catch myself.
Then, I literally began to scrape junk off the end of the table.
I took one of the Valentine cards, and used it as a scraper, to get the majority of the glitter, and little bits and pieces.
Using a damp cloth to pick up all the glitter will have to wait. I wasn’t about to do more than my required 15!!
I even had time to sweep under this end of the table.
It’s clean.( ish). It’s clean (er). Okay, it’s better than it was, ok? Okay, we’ll go with that one.
Scullery time before: 3 hrs 2 min
Adding today’s 15= 3 hrs 17 min Total Scullery Time
House time so far: 5 hr 13 min + today’s 15 = 5 hrs 28 min total
(Who’s gonna break the news to Ashley??)
I’m showing this to my mom. 😀

Oh I have to get caught up on your other scullery scrapes! I’m a big fan of tidying and devoting a set to time to a project. You may not be able to readily notice my commitment to these principles in my own home- but I am a believer!
