Today marks a full 7 days that PP has been sick. 😦
Poor PP, feeling poorly Pudding Pop.
PPJr was sick the first 2 of those days, so you can imagine how full my hands were!! I literally had my hands, and arms full of sick babies. Oh, excuse me. I’ve just been informed by PP that “I not a baby!”
So, for 2 days, we 3 sat in the recliner, gently rocking, sometimes snoozing. When I started to doze off, I would be rudely jerked awake, by a scream, or by crying.
Or both. Any of which is preferable to an elbow in the eye!!
No visual, since neither baby would take a selfie, and I had no hands free!
So, I Googled “grandmother rocking 2 babies”
and this came up.
Sometimes I wonder if Google has a mental disorder!
This is the very best Google had to offer:
Remember when I had so much trouble with Google, and the spaghetti sauce??
How else can I ask for a grandmother rocking 2 babies???
Ask for 3 dark haired men, 2 with beards?? Cuz apparently, they are related.
And here it is Tue evening, I’m typing this with 1 hand, cuz the other is full of cranky baby. I know some of y’all out there are familiar with this writing style! The other baby, who declared “I not sick!!” then promptly fell asleep, is laid out on my bed.
At least when DD1 gets finished cooking supper, we can eat in peace an quiet!!
And now I have a post for Wed, Please forgive the lack of one today. Nurses don’t have much time to write!
Are you experiencing an after Christmas slump? I hope not.
Not me! My extended family had to postpone our traditional Christmas Eve celebration, due to so much sickness. So, for New Year’s Eve, we will be celebrating Christ’s birth all over again! We might find out we like that even better! (And if we decide to do it next year- Bonus! We could get all our gifts at the after Christmas clearance sales!! That would be a score!)
Anyway, here’s your Monday memes (which did indeed turn out to become a long running series anyway- due to its popularity!) to get your laughter button turned on. Or as Granny, and Grandma used to say, “Somebody turned your giggle box over”!! I think I need to revive that phrase!
It’s a mixed bag today. No theme, I’m still too busy wrapping presents!
Right??
Poor Guy!
Just sayin!!
So glad I don’t go out into those war zones!!
The Far Side’s humor never gets old!!
Did your giggle box get turned over?? I hope so!!
Divinity is divine!!
You won’t believe this, I looked up “Purple fudge” and they had a pic! It did NOT look edible! lol
I’m sure I could find other purple candies, but I’m too hungry now to keep looking! Excuse me while I go into a sugar coma.
Sweet, sweet, SWEETS!! YES! Christmas is the sweetest time of year!!
But what about Easter?? Valentine’s Day?? That October holiday you don’t like to talk about???
Cross image- blaircandy.com peeps- pinterest.com
Okay, okay, Christmas is ONE of the sweetest times of the year. Can we agree on that??
(Thinks it over, nods.) Whew! Glad we got THAT settled! I didn’t realize I’d need hostage negotiation skills just to write a post today!
Now that I’ve snapped outta my sugar coma, what were we talking about??
Christmas being sweet. Oh yeah, thanks! I’ve already dedicated a whole post to Mama’s pecan pie.
(Oh no, there I go slobbering all over the keyboard again!)
Another sweet that I miss, Grandma’s egg custard pie.
Since she’s gone, no one else really has the heart to make it.any more. So, I go get one from Publix, as a sad, sad, substitute. And cry into my Sprite, as I gobble the whole thing down in 1 sitting.
Fruitcake- now that is 1 thing I don’t miss! Though I must admit, Grandma’s was pretty good, as fruitcakes go! It was moist, not a door stopper at all!
This is probably a good place for this.
Lol, in other words, Desserts take the cake, if you’re stressed!
One candy I haven’t had in years, was homemade by a Greek family, that was in one of our churches. Every year they made red, and green candy, that looked like colored glass. I wish I could remember the name of it! (Oh, Ma-ma!!)
Mama says it was called “Kallacarenes Kandy”. (That was the name of the family- how did that happen??) Then she asked, “Why? Are you gonna try to make some??” Boy, we had a good belly laugh about that!!
Since it looked like broken glass, I looked that up, and lo and behold- that’s the name!
The red is cinnamon, well, guess I won’t be having any of that! The green was mint.
I talked about so much sweet stuff, I’m craving salty now. Off to the kitchen to lick some saltines.
I’m so surprised to be nominated for another Sunshine Award! This is so cool, that people feel I bring sunshine into their world! I hope I do to yours as well.
Thanks, InspiringMax!
The Rules:
Questions given to me:
Plant City, Fl. I was born there, and will always consider it home, because both my Granny, and my Grandma, lived there till they died.
If you could change one thing what would it be?
This is hard. Before March, I would have said my weight. Before a year ago August, I would have said my slobbishness. Before June, I would have said owning my own home. Now, hmmmm, I would change America back to a Christian country.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
My Mama hugging me.
What is your dream job?
Being a proofreader. And now I get to do that every time I write a post! Yay! I just don’t get paid. 😦
What was your best subject at school?
Reading. Wonder why???
Do you prefer to live in the country or the city?
Oh, definitely country-ish. I don’t want to live in the middle of a million people, but I don’t want to have to drive 5 miles to even get to the road, either! I like exactly where I am. And that’s a nice place to be!
If you were stranded on a desert island which celebrity would you take with you?
A celebrity? Hmmm, maybe Tim Tebow, so we could talk about Jesus.
Everyone has a song that makes them want to dance, what is yours?
Everybody Get Up and Dance Now!
Favorite colour?
I’ll let my readers answer this one. Y’all know it!
Do you prefer camping, caravaning or staying in motels?
Motels, by a landslide. I hated camping as a kid. My brother would run his finger along the canvas right on top of my head. Yuck!! Drip, drip. He invented water boarding!
How many different careers have you had?
Umm, not paying ones? Or only counting when I got paid? Non paying; about 15. (babysitter for my siblings, piano player at church, professional serial dater in college, clown, Grammar Nazi, etc.) Paying: only about 7. (retail sales, McDonald’s, transport for hospital, teacher, sub teacher, mentor/tutor, call center. Oh yeah, 8- my 2 day career as a nanny. 54 is TOO OLD to watch 3 in diapers!!)
.
(I know the numbers are messed up. It did that when I added the pix. And I’m gonna leave them like that, because I’m not gonna be OCD today.)
My nominees:
My questions for y’all:
I look forward to finding out a little bit more about y’all!
This is my Aunt Sherry, and I on my Grandma’s porch. My Grandma – who is her mother’s porch.
Sherry is only 5 months older than me. And no, I never called her Aunt! Except to tease her, and try to make her feel old! Ya know, since she’s a WHOLE 5 MONTHS!! older than me!
I’m on the right. I think I’m looking down, and frowning because we were comparing our ugly Flintstone feet.
See how I’m kicking that right foot out?? I’m comparing how fat my foot is to hers. It’s a whole family pastime, to whip out our piggies and see whose is the ugliest this year. You should see all my aunts gathered together!
What? your family doesn’t do this? Well, sorry for you, then!
Who pedals your car, when you’re all together???
