Last week, after my nerves had settled down after Irma, I needed to do a quick purge of something!
So, I looked around, and decided to grab my jewelry box. Which I have not even opened since we’ve moved here, back mid-May!
Here it is: Inside:

An overwhelming pile of junk stuff. Ok, ok, let’s separate it into categories.
Earrings:
How many sets of ears do I think I actually have????
Other things:
Whoa!! Whaaaaaat??? Just start with the earrings.
Okay, deep breath!! Strawberry earrings, 3 pairs exactly alike; so I can probably get rid of 2. Good! A brand new pair, with magnet, that have not even been opened!! That I’ve had since 2011!! Guaranteed I will not miss them! And 1 single. Jet!! I don’t do singles, and certainly not posts anymore!! See ya!
Now, out of ten items, only 2 left. Excellent!!

2 shamrock sets; I can only wear 1 pair at a time, and St. Patrick’s Day is only once a year, so 1 set has to go. Shoo!!

Whew! Those were all pretty easy to work thru. But, Dun Dun DUN!! Now here comes all the purples!!!!

Honor roll pin from high school??? college???? I didn’t even remember I had it, so no pain to let it go. DCT pin, I know is from HS. Don’t even care now. Bye! And tiny baby feet, to protest abortion. I will keep 1 set, just not both.

The purple heart, and the strawberry can go. The 2 pix charms, I have larger sizes of both pix, so they can go. The HS key?? I’m keeping, because I lost my class ring, so this is in lieu of that.
Now onto more misc. stuff that is not jewelry!
The clear cover is to my seam ripper. It will go back on there, so I don’t lose a finger! Scissors will go in sewing stuff. Ya think?? Foreign coins are from Mama. I care nothing about them, and she cares a lot! So, back to her they go! The amethyst I’m keeping for now. And the angel is from Bubba, so she stays too.
I forgot about 2 other pair of earrings, till I was scrolling thru my phone, but I got rid of them, so no pix necessary.

Good job! I have a severe reaction to metal so I can’t wear jewelry — if I did, I bet my jewelry case would be as messy as yours was. 🙂

I also am allergic to any type of false alloy. That means I can only wear the kind of jewelry that you see in cases and has all sorts of security around it and costs like 10 billion dollars. Needless to say I have very little jewelry! It’s a blessing and a curse. A blessing because if I could wear it I would probably have to go through a 12 step program to stop the addiction. A curse because I would LOVE to be able to accessorize with jewelry. Even the stuff that claims to be hypoallergenic will break me out.
When I was in high school and guys gave their girlfriends jewelry they would all want me to wear it for a little while and tell them if it was real. True story! LOL

Wow, you did it! You’ve certainly paired it down to the essentials. Whenever I go through my own jewelry box, I don’t end up throwing a lot, or anything at all – but only because of sentimental reasons, and then I still don’t wear them.
